We booked this tour very last minute, after a hectic schedule of watching T20 World Cup cricket and sight-seeing around Trinidad & Tobago. Peter Reid the skipper and his first mate Stefan were exceptional, low key, no fuss. We worked out a time and package that matched our needs, found the pier easily. On the day we left early, to beat traffic in and around Port Of Spain, crucial especially during the week, Within 10 mins of arriving at the Pier we were on the boat trip and into prime fishing grounds. The area is surrounded by Islands, with deep water, and for those uninitiated with catching game fish - like Tarpon, this was an exhilarating experience. All the equipment like fishing line, live bait and reels was in good order, we did not use electric, this actually gives you a very good work out, as you get to really feel the power of the fish, and earn the right to catch in my opinion. In 4 hours we landed 9 fish, including a Catfish that was filleted and packed for us. My wife had never experienced anything like this, however after toiling for 15 - 20 mins, landed a good sized Tarpon (60kg). If you want an adrenaline filled, accessible and safe experience with experienced crew on a good vessel, Peter is the main man to see on "Let it Fly Fishing Tours".
