During this 3 hours mahjong course, you’ll be taken into an authentic local spice market to explore it and learn different species of Sichuan spices and ingredients that will be used in the Sichuan cuisine. After that, you’ll go to a cozy room with Chinese characteristics and learn how to play the famous traditional Chinese game, mahjong, with a English speaking guide. You’ll learn rules in an easy way and then test your mastery degree with a local tea. If you want to test your intelligence, you can not miss mahjong when you visit Chengdu.

5.00Very grateful experience I recommend to anyone coming to Chengdu. You really can see how locals live in those non touristic areas. I felt like home, if the tour guide were my very old friend and we were just playing mahjong while enjoying local te and fruit. I also loved the smoked tofu (tasted like Spanish smoked cheese) so I just took some more to my hotel. Thank you really much for the experience and your kindness! I'll practice more and challenge you guys when I'm back.

5.00Excellent customer service from the start. Tour operator contacted me almost immediately after I booked to clarify my hotel location for pick up. Then, as we were driving to the location, my guide pointed out different sites we were passing that I might want to check out later. We walked through a marketplace on the way to the mahjong houses and my guide pointed out different produce that was in season and different herbs used in Chinese medicine. My guide asked if I smoked and when I said no, he found a house where no one was smoking. He did an excellent job explaining the game to me, showing me how the tiles were organized and the general rules of the game. We played several games with him giving me advice and where we could see each other’s tiles. We then played more games without being able to see each other’s tiles. I am completely hooked on this game now.
