The difficulty level of this excursion is considered to be moderate to strenuous depending on your physical fitness level. It is very important that you are in good physical condition in order to participate and enjoy yourself. The terrain in the rainforest can be muddy, slippery, uneven and include river-wading, climbing large rocks and steep inclines. This excursion is recommended for guests with an active lifestyle
Minimum age is 8 years old
Maximum weight limit is 240 lbs
Maximum age is 70 years old
NOTE: Saturday's tour is longer (approximately 1 more hour) and more strenuous than Sunday - Friday. It's very important that you are able to comply with all of the tour restrictions, have a strong physical fitness level and are able to bring your knees up to your chest.

Transportation not Available: Guests must have Rental Car – No Taxi or Ubers. After an interpretive hike through natural trails lined with beautiful flora and fauna, some river wading and small climbs, you will arrive at a hidden gem found in the heart of the rainforest. This breathtaking segment of the 29,000-acre forest is like a natural playground. Here you will have the chance to swim in the natural pools, refresh in waterfalls, slide down an exhilarating natural waterslide, rope swing into the river, jump from different rock formations and enjoy fresh local fruit with a view. Along with all of this excitement, you will also have time to simply relax to the sounds of cascading waters and take in the beauty of this very special place.

5.00I did so much research to select a tour for my family of 4 with a 13 and 10 year old. I’m so glad I chose island journeys - we had an incredible day in the rainforest. Our group size was only 10 people and when I saw other tours coming through with 40+ people I was so thankful for our small group! Our guide Rene was so attentive and informative - it was the perfect mix of educational and fun. He made sure everyone was comfortable and kept a good pace for all. The small touches like the fresh fruit he cut for us from a local farm stand and the beers he had in a cooler at the end made it even more special. He also took photos for us through the whole day so we didn’t have to worry about carrying our phones or getting the perfect family photo. Highly recommend this tour with Island Journeys and Rene!

5.00Bradley and Amauri were amazing guides. They were great communicators and were very focused on safety. Due to excessive rain, we did not get to do the waterslide portion of the trip, but we were able to do the cliff jump and rope swing multiple times. Some advice for future guests: - wear shoes you don't mind getting 100% submerged. Even if you don't do the cliff jump, you have to walk through a river - bring a change of clothes for dinner. There is 3 hour period where we could have been wearing dry clothes, but didn't - bring a second bathing suit for the kayak portion Overall it was a great day. We got picked up at 10:15 am and got back at 9:15 pm. Though the tour was a little pricey, we were taken care of for 11 hours. Also, the skirt steak at the dinner venue was amazing. I think they sous vide that bad boy.

5.00This was amazing!! Both Bradley and Amaury were so wonderful and reassuring. They prioritized our safety and and made sure to give each us options based on our comfort level. This was hands down the best tour we’ve been on in our week in Peurto Rico!

5.00Really fun experience. It was a bit crowded, but certainly worth the wait. The hike is very short, you won't need a water bottle or a phone. The guides take great photos (which are included) so just bring footwear with decent traction and protection on rocks and clothes you are comfortable swimming in. My family of four LOVED this experience.

5.00Renee and Bradley were great tour guides. They were very knowledgeable about the vegetation and helpful throughout the trip. Safety was a priority with this tour, which we appreciated. Helmets and life jackets were required, which in my opinion were necessities due to the slippery rocks throughout the hike. We went with our two children, ages 12 and 9, and they had a blast! Highly recommended!

5.00Adventurous way to explore the natural beauty of Puerto Rico! Parts of the climb to the natural waterslide were challenging, but the guides were there to help you when needed, especially with foot and hand holds. The natural rock waterslide, rope jump an cliff jump were so fun!

5.00Bradley and Xavier were excellent! I was worried that it would be to difficult of an adventure for me but it was perfect. Just the right amount of challenge with fun! They were extremely helpful when you needed it and just all around fun to be around. I felt that everyone in our group would agree
