The Mud Pool at Wai-O-Tapu Thermal Wonderland, near Rotorua, is one of New Zealand's most active geothermal features. It consists of bubbling, boiling mud created by underground geothermal activity. The thick, grey mud constantly bubbles due to the release of volcanic gases, offering a fascinating display of nature’s raw power. The Mud Pool sits in a crater formed by a volcanic eruption and is a popular attraction for visitors interested in geothermal phenomena.
Lady Knox Geyser
The Lady Knox Geyser, located in the Wai-O-Tapu Thermal Wonderland near Rotorua, New Zealand, is a natural hot spring geyser that erupts daily at 10:15 AM. Triggered by a surfactant introduced by park staff, its eruptions can reach heights of up to 10-20 meters, lasting for about an hour. The geyser was discovered in the early 20th century and named after Lady Constance Knox, the daughter of a former New Zealand governor.

5.00The trails have inclines and may be difficult for some people. The experience was marvelous. So many geothermal cavities and large ponds. I was very impressed. The views of surrounding trees and mountains was beautiful.

5.00Our morning tour was a great experience. We were picked up right on time and got to see everything we hoped to see. Karen and Slim were great hosts! They gave us lots of history and information about the area on our drives which was so nice! We really enjoyed this experience!

4.00They picked me up on time, our guide was very friendly, we went to all the places mentioned and gave us information about the city, the only thing is that I found it a little expensive for the tour that was done, but I also know that this is the whole of New Zealand, likewise, for comfort and security issues, if I recommend it

1.00This is overpriced. Our bus driver was nice, he took us to mud pools and to the geyser on time then on to Waiotapu. But it is not worth the price tag at all, I think there are a lot of improvements that could be made, and the price should be dropped considerably to make this worth purchasing.

5.00Some really epic views of volcanic landscapes. Really enjoyable and the walk can be made easier or harder depending on your fitness. The one criticism I would have is that the digital voiceover for the commentary is a bit grating.

3.00The provider deserves a medal! He did everything he could to make our tour enjoyable. Such pity that that some of the guests did thrir best to ruin it be being late for pickup snd two not arriving at all while we waited. This meant we missed time specific events. Dinesh deserves a medal.
