We start our tour with your pick-up from your Hotel in the Albufeira area and depart for

a safari adventure through the natural wonders of the Algarve and its mountains. Enjoy a real adventure in a convertible jeep (with a roof in case of rain). This tour has off-road trails, beautiful landscapes, regional architecture, medieval monuments, traditional villages and natural water sources where you can dive into the waters of the stream. The excursion also includes the traditional trade where we can see regional products such as liqueurs, honey and jams.

On the offroad paths we will see large fruit plantations with small streams and water irrigation systems left by the Romans.

Guides will provide you with information about our culture and region, at the end of the tour, relax back at your hotel.

Meeting point and departure for the tour. From Albufeira we will leave for the tour, we will find the traditional Algarvian houses. On the way we will see irrigation systems used by the former farmers of the Algarve and many of them still from Roman times.

Paderne Castle

Visit the castle from medieval times, the castle of Paderne is one of the castles of the Portuguese national flag. Castle from the Moorish period, when the Arabs still ruled the Algarve. In this place we will enjoy the beauty around. (Interior of the castle it is only possible to visit when the municipality opens to the public)

Two of the stops on the advertised tour were skipped. We were late leaving because of other travellers who were not at their pick up point on time. We didn’t get to see the waterfall, which was one of the things my daughter was most looking forward to. There was no narration while we drove, just a very uncomfortable, fast drive where we were hit by branches constantly and flung around corners. When we did get some of the “tour guide” talking to us it was about trees and seed pods which wasn’t exactly what we had hoped for. We stopped off at a herb farm that the tour operators obviously have a deal with as they tried to flog us their goods and were terribly rude when I asked if there was a bathroom when I hadn’t bought any of their products. There wasn’t. There was actually only one toilet on the whole 4 hour bumpy journey. It was a hot day and we were hydrating but there was nowhere to stop. This tour felt like being shuttled from one place to another haphazardly with no care for the participants’ experience.

This was a great trip, Paulo our guide was good fun and very knowlegable, highly recommend it. We tried some portuguese hooch too!

I’d recommend this experience to anyone visiting the area. Our guides name was Alberto and we loved him! Super friendly, super funny and was very knowledgeable! We got to see some hidden gems. Our guide was also super respectful of the land, he picked up any trash he found along the way… really just shows how much he loves the area.

Excellent experience! Traveled from United States to Lisbon and then had a few days in algarve. Beautiful and fun way to experience the culture, food and nature! Our tour guide was funny, an excellent photographer and shared a lot of local/ historical knowledge to us. Highly recommend, worth the time and money spent. Memories forever cherished!

Paolo was an amazing guide. He gave a lot of info about locally grown fruit, herbs and trees, breaking down leaves to show the scent, etc. it was an added layer that we didn’t expect. The stops on the tour were good with things to do and see and a lot of good photo opportunities.
