This workshop is led by Master Nakagawa, the owner of the atelier, offering guests a rare opportunity to learn directly from a professional glass artist rather than an assistant or facilitator.

Unlike typical craft experiences, participants use a professional sandblasting machine and work through the full creative process—from design to finishing—within a compact 90-minute session. With a wide selection of traditional Japanese motifs and hands-on guidance throughout, even beginners can create a refined, high-quality glass artwork.

The small-group setting ensures personal attention, while the finished piece serves as a functional, authentic souvenir that reflects both Japanese aesthetics and the participant’s own design.

This small shop is located a short walk from the station. The owner was very friendly, and helpful when giving instructions during the workshop. He also had very beautiful pieces he's made on display

This experience was pretty amazing. Having seen this type of art before I was interested to try and Tokyo and Mr Aki were the perfect opportunity. Everything was explained in English and I was super impressed that Mr Aki .managed me and managed a group of 5 or 6 others who were Japanese at the same time. He seamlessly switched between English and Japanese to ensure we were all supported. Absolutely love the finished product and would do this again!

It was a blast!! They were very accommodating and even managed to get us in even though we were running late from a previous class. He explained every step very well. I would recommend if you are wanting to do sandblasting. I was very fun!!!

Was great. There was an easel out the front with my name on it when I got there. I was early so I was just looking at his work in the window and he came out and brought me in earlier. I was the only one there for the workshop that day so I got heaps of attention. The owner was lovely and could speak English well. He explained everything and checked after each sticker had been done. He also offered to take photos of me with my phone while I was using the sand machine. It was a great experience and I now have an amazing souvenir to go with my memories. Would recommend it to anyone and would definitely do it again.

We had a great time sand blasting our custom made glasses. Nakagawa-San was very knowledgeable and patient with us. We have done several craft classes in Japan and this was definitely is one of our favorites.

The workshop is fun and entertaining. The shopkeeper is extremely helpful and friendly. He assisted us throughout the making process and gave us a clear explanation with fluent English. Overall, it is an amazing experience.

This was so much fun! Very very easy to do! The instructor was experienced with explaining the steps to do this. It turned out beautiful!
