  We had a seamless pick up at the port and met Jun in Hanoi. Jun was fantastic . His knowledge and enthusiasm for his city was incredible. We covered so much in spite of heavy traffic and he even extended our time because of the traffic on his own. He took us to the many sights, but the best was getting a real life experience of walking the busy markets of Hanoi. It gave us a real sense of the city. He also took us to great eating places that were terrific. I would highly recommend Jun and this tour.

  Super efficient trip for a cruise stop in Ha Long Bay. Our guide, Minh, had perfect English, and was very enthusiastic about educating us about Hanoi. He showed us a ton of sights in a short period of time, and sat us right next to the train on Train Street. Highly recommend this tour!

  It's a long drive to Hanoi from Halong port. Our ship arrived at 11 am. Our guide had contacted us the day before, which was reassuring. The driver was waiting at the end of the gangway, holding our name. The car was comfortable, water was provided, there was a comfort stop each way and the driver was very calm and capable in the traffic. The roads were good but busy. We picked up Tung, our guide, in Hanoi. We were concerned about the prospect of a long and tiring day, but he managed to give us a good overview of this fascinating city, adapting to our interests, but showing us a great deal. Lunch was good, and we tried an egg coffee (a bit like Zabaglione) in a little cafe. The 'cyclo' (rickshaw) ride was very enjoyable. And we learned how to cross the road! The city is vibrant at night, so the late trip meant we could enjoy that. I would highly recommend a private tour here, so that you can get the best out of it for your own circumstances.

  Our guide contacted us in advance so that we were confident that we were expected. The driver was waiting at the foot of the gangway, holding a sign with our name. It's a long drive to Hanoi from Ha Long port but the car was comfortable and the driver was very calm in the 'interesting' traffic. We stopped for a break on the way there and back. Despite a late start, due to our ship's timing, Tung managed a very good overview of Hanoi - a fascinating city with a rich past and optimistic future. He paced the tour to suit us, and skipped items we were less interested in. Sadly the train wasn't running that day, but we still enjoyed 'Train Street'. Running into the evening turned out to be an advantage as we also saw some of Hanoi by night.

  Our driver picked us up and dropped us off right on the dock in front of our ship. (The foot of the ship) He drove skillfully and quickly- it can take over 3 hour to get to Hanoi and he made it in 2.5, both coming and going. Our guide, Lucky Ivy, really customized our tour for us and was very knowledgeable. Getting to sit next to the train as it was whizzing past was a blast! I also got a great foot massage for $8 and the rickshaw ride was a fun way to see the city We got to taste and drink a variety of street foods that we chose. I saw a group from our cruise ship in the same area and their tour guide only showed them the food stands;they didn’t get to eat or drink.

  

  

  

• Wonderful day trip to in Hanoi

  We got picked up at the cruise terminal and retourned later and had a comfortable and safe ride to Hanoi (2.5 hrs) thanks to our good driver. We had booked a private tour (just us) and therefore our knowledgeable guide Jun adjusted the route according to our wishes; so we could a perfect insight into the city, it‘s residents and the Vietnamese history and culture. The tour included a Rikscha tour, a meal in a small Restaurant and a coffee in one of the coffeehouses, which we would never had found ourselves. Very interesting and pleasant day!

  Jun is absolutely the best tour guide you can imagine. He is energetic, fun, knowledgeable and takes you to both the highlights of Hanoi and places in the market that you could never see without him. His attention to detail is amazing and we very much appreciated the reserved table for train and all the wonderful photos he took. Jun is a 10/10 and you would be very very lucky to take a tour of Hanoi with him.

  Apart from the long 2 hour drive from the port it was a great experience. The varied sites visited gave a good insight into the history and modern day living in Hanoi. Our tour guide Ben was great fun and his enthusiasm to show us around his city really shone through. Although a long day it was jam packed with culture and partying. Felt like we had been there for a long weekend, not a day. So many memories. Well recommended.
