Our driver picked us up and dropped us off right on the dock in front of our ship. (The foot of the ship) He drove skillfully and quickly- it can take over 3 hour to get to Hanoi and he made it in 2.5, both coming and going. Our guide, Lucky Ivy, really customized our tour for us and was very knowledgeable. Getting to sit next to the train as it was whizzing past was a blast! I also got a great foot massage for $8 and the rickshaw ride was a fun way to see the city We got to taste and drink a variety of street foods that we chose. I saw a group from our cruise ship in the same area and their tour guide only showed them the food stands;they didn’t get to eat or drink.

We got picked up at the cruise terminal and retourned later and had a comfortable and safe ride to Hanoi (2.5 hrs) thanks to our good driver. We had booked a private tour (just us) and therefore our knowledgeable guide Jun adjusted the route according to our wishes; so we could a perfect insight into the city, it‘s residents and the Vietnamese history and culture. The tour included a Rikscha tour, a meal in a small Restaurant and a coffee in one of the coffeehouses, which we would never had found ourselves. Very interesting and pleasant day!

Jun is absolutely the best tour guide you can imagine. He is energetic, fun, knowledgeable and takes you to both the highlights of Hanoi and places in the market that you could never see without him. His attention to detail is amazing and we very much appreciated the reserved table for train and all the wonderful photos he took. Jun is a 10/10 and you would be very very lucky to take a tour of Hanoi with him.

Apart from the long 2 hour drive from the port it was a great experience. The varied sites visited gave a good insight into the history and modern day living in Hanoi. Our tour guide Ben was great fun and his enthusiasm to show us around his city really shone through. Although a long day it was jam packed with culture and partying. Felt like we had been there for a long weekend, not a day. So many memories. Well recommended.

Smooth pick up and ride from the port into Hanoi. Driver was very respectful and spoke some English, and did provide a nice rest stop, as well as on the way back. Our guide in Hanoi, Kim, did a very good job of giving us an overview of recent Vietnam history, and deepened and enriched our understanding of Ho Chi Minh. Kim customized our tour according to our desires, and enabled us to get a good sense of the heart, culture, and vibe of. Hanoi. Lunch was delicious as well!

100% percent would recommend this trip,the driver and our guide were both excellent.The driver was punctual,v v safe and road aware.He was confident and experienced we both felt very safe in his capable hands. Our guide was just amazing and sorted everything and more besides,he took time to explain everything without being repetitive,he organised the most insane and giggle making rickshaw trip for us while also taking us safely to train street so we did see the train go inches past and also explained some history along the way!A super day out we will both remember for a long time and can’t speak highly enough of them.A pleasure to meet them thank you.

Great tour with Brian. It was a long day but we got to do everything planned. Brian made sure we got to try wonderful local foods and experience the train rolling through the station.

Mike was an excellent tour guide. Everything went super smooth from pick up to drop off. We got to see the old city, French quarter, have a delicious lunch, and learn a lot about Hanoi and Vietnam. It was a long day but well worth it.
Fun day in Hanoi with Hai

We had a wonderful day with our guide Hai. He showed us Hanoi in a way that was fun and informative. The highlight was having egg coffee on Train Street as the train came flying by so close, I also enjoyed the rickshaw ride through the old town. Hai and our driver looked after us the whole day. Being picked up and dropped off at the ship was definitely a bonus.
