5.00Victor took us on one of the best food tours we’ve ever been on, with exceptional local hole-in-the-wall spots that is difficult to find without somebody who grew up in Hawaii. He’s been going to many of the food stalls you will visit for since he was a child, and knows the owners by name. Each tour is a different experience tailored to the palate of the guests. We had manapua (pork bun), rambutans, longons, mangosteens, two different kinds of lilikoi (passion fruit), Cantonese and Filipino-style local fish, gigantic spotted prawns, otoro sashimi, tuna and octopus poke, and ended with hawaii style tuna with shallow water seaweed. He’s an incredible host and the passion for local food, history, and cultural context is infectious. We were so stuffed by the end, that we had to take some home. 12/10 would do again.

5.00Awesome tour! One of my favorite activities during a trip to Honolulu. Had a great time with TJ and Victor, our guides through Chinatown. (I was genuinely impressed with Victor’s ability to flawlessly recall *and use* each person’s name—it was a big group!—after the first introduction. Almost superpower level??) They did a nice job explaining the rich background of the area, its people, and its food. For one stop, while food was being prepped we had some time to browse an area with small vendors, so you might want to bring some cash for souvenirs and doodads. Definitely go with a truly empty stomach! You will be offered seconds (or thirds, or fourths) and you *will* leave with leftovers. Incredible fresh food you’ll get nowhere else. Great value, and juice and bottled water are included. Somewhat more adventurous eaters will have the best time—nothing outrageous, but picky or seafood/sashimi-adverse eaters will sit out some of the treats. This tour is a no-brainer whether it’s your first visit or hundredth—eat, learn, walk (just a tiny bit). Had a great time, and I’ve already recommended it to anyone who’ll listen!

5.00Victor was an excellent tour guide giving us a lot of history of Chinatown an FF the island and of course, the food. The food was delicious. We were joined by TJ for two stops and he was excellent and helpful. Everyone who is seeing this, it IS WORTH THE PRICE. The food was excellent. Bring your appetite, comfortable clothing and footwear and bags to carry leftovers.

5.00The Hawaii Office of the Beaten Path tour is excellent. My husband and I have enjoyed food tours in many states and countries. This particular tour stands out in many ways. The tour price seemed high, but I’m glad we went ahead and booked because this tour is very fairly priced. The amount of food you sample is large in overall volume. The quality of the foods are superb. The guides, Victor and T.J. were attentive in all details. They were engaging and provided food and cultural history along the way. They were great at anticipating needs and had wet wipes, napkins, hand sanitizer etc. they were sure to continue to offer more water or juice through the tour duration. The pick up and drop off were well communicated and easy. No need to worry about parking and parking fees. The one thing I would highly suggest is brining along your own reusable bag to easily carry leftovers …. Yes leftovers. There was so much food and we were able to take home enough for a full dinner for our party of four. Victor and T.J. also provided containers for the food leftovers. Do this tour!

5.00Man, we had a blast with TJ and Victor. These dudes had us learning local history like it was the hottest Netflix show of the summer. And the food? Listen… we tried fresh tuna, duck, pork, Filipino dishes, basically everything but the kitchen sink. By the time we got back, we were so stuffed I thought somebody was gonna have to roll us outta there like a couple of beach balls. And shoutout to our guides for looking out for my parents. They’re older, and TJ and Victor kept the pace so perfect it felt like we were on the VIP senior tour. Smooth, easy, no stress. Big Mahalo, y’all.

5.00A quick but informative and delicious tour through the oldest Chinatown in the USA. TJ was so friendly and helpful, learned a lot about the history of Chinatown while trying some amazing Chinese/Filipino/Vietnamese food. My favorite was the fresh Chutoro Sashimi! It really felt like something I wouldn't have discovered without this tour. Picked up from my hotel and dropped off at my hotel. Picked up at 9:00am and back by 12:15. Thank you TJ!

5.00This was an exceptional food tour! Our guide TJ was so kind, knowledgeable, and fun! The food was delicious and we had plenty to take home to enjoy later. TJ had everything we needed to enjoy the day and take home what we couldn't eat. I highly recommend this tour if you are looking for some history and a peek into life on the island away from tourist-dense areas.
