Hawaii Volcanoes National Park
While most of the visit will be spent here! We will cover all popular stops with commentary. The following areas will be visited: Volcano House, Visitor Center, Kilauea overlook of the Halemaumau Crater, steam vents and sulfur dioxide banks, Kilauea Iki Crater, Laumanu Crater and Nahuku lava tube.
Hilo Farmers Market
The largest and locally grown vegetables and fruits are available in Hilo Farmers market that is conveniently located in the Historical Hilo Town. Guests are given an hour for lunch in this area full of restaurants and local shops.

5.00This tour was one of the best I have ever done Justin was so very knowledgeable and his obvious love for Hilo was impressive His van is super clean which shows his pride in his profession He was prompt picking us up from the cruise ship He was considerate to our needs I am an 82 year old female Australian Justin made sure I was safe helping me out of the van Volcanos national park was amazing Kilauea didn't put on much of a show for us but we did get to see the smoke The lava tubes was fun to walk through The farmers and craft market were good Rainbow falls impressive and a visit to Big Island candies was interesting we could view the candy being made through a glass petition A visit to Richardson Ocean black sand beach was great the water crystal clear There was a mixed age group on the tour by the end of the day I felt that I was saying goodbye to Family Thank You Justin You remember me the one with the accent I still say I don't have an accent but everyone else did all Americans 😊 love them all Estelle

5.00This tour was one of the best I have ever done anywhere in the world. The guide, Justin, is the best. Explained so much about the volcanoes, areas and local culture. He is hilarious, warm and gives great hugs. It really did feel like a family trip with the other 12 people. Seeing all the volcanic tephra from recent explosions is a thing most people won’t see in their lifetime. Not to mention seeing a volcanic crater and being able to stand in a lava tube cave and volcanic steam. All that was explained was from a native (Justin) and was much better than trying a trip on your own. Best time was had. Everything in Hilo is fairly close by so you don’t feel like half the tour is spent in a van driving. Justin is the owner of this tour and it is a rare treat getting a tour from someone so invested in their business who does it because he loves people. Don’t hesitate to book this you will be so happy you did!

5.00Justin made this a truly great experience! Being a native to the island made the experience that much more enjoyable because He knew so much & we learned a lot! He is funny & has a great personality! Never dull moment & we had lots of laughs! And he took great pics & knew the best spots!! The van was spic & span clean & the AC was much appreciated. 5 stars all the way & I’d highly recommend him!! Mahalo 🤙🏼

5.00Me and my mom loved this tour! This is definitely a must if you are traveling to Hawaii. Justin was a fantastic tour guide. He is very knowledgeable and charismatic, and truly cares about his homeland. He definitely made this tour special, he is the best tour guide we have ever had 100%. You can tell he truly loves being around and working with people. His insight as a native was essential and made the day extra special for us. 10000000000000/10!

5.00Sooooo much fun! From the moment you see Justin you are part of his family. He took us every where and even more if time allowed. He is so knowledgeable about everything on Hilo. If we come back Hilo again we are definitely booking with Makaio Tours. Mahalo and Ohana Justin!
