Spend up to 3 hours hiking on the Fox Glacier, The fly-in, fly-out heli hike combines the excitement of walking on the Te Moeka o Tuawe/Fox Glacier with the thrill of helicopter flights. By flying in you can access and explore a part of the glacier where its forces work hardest and often create spectacular ice caves and arches. You will be outfitted with boots and crampons specially designed for these ice conditions. You follow the ice steps cut by your guide as you explore the amazing formations. Please note that this is a natural and ever-changing environment. Ice features change constantly and no guarantee can be given that specific features will be seen. This is a weather dependent trip. 5.00This is an amazing experience . Helicopter ride together with hiking at glacier . They provide all the equipment, clothes n shoes plus gloves . We did this is summer so only near to wear some merinos layers n perhaps another thick layer. Lovely experienced lady guide who waits for those who cannot keep up n she kelt shoveling to make sure u understand . Safety was explained well n taken seriously . Introduced us to the mountains , waterfalls , rocks etc. I do think u need to hv some stamina but nothing my 20 yr old cannot do. Do this if u r not doing sky diving . Really cool n unforgettable !!! Great team of experienced people !!

5.00This was planned as an activity for my husband's 50th birthday, sadly the weather didn't play ball that day but we did manage to re book for the day after, so nearly just as good This trip was amazing Great communication from the company, as we had to rebook etc due to the weather I think you offer a fair refund price too if things don't go according to plan 👍 We had our full time on the ice and the weather was amazing Safety and briefings were reiterated and ensured everyone understood as it can be a dangerous environment Once up on the glacier Keeley was our guide. She was fantastic, great knowledge and really personable to everyone in our group. A day out to remember, and so glad we could rebook.

5.00Excellent experience. Very professional and great guides. All the staff were so helpful and friendly. We had booked the Franz Joseph Heli Hike but they cancelled on us, so Fox Glacier team stepped in and gave us a great experience.

5.00Absolutely brilliant experience and company. I had guide Charlie who was fantastic. I made a booking error (totally my fault) and they fixed it up for me no dramas. 10/ 10 recommend .

5.00We had an incredible experience with Fox Glacier Guiding Glacier Tours. It was both our first time in a helicopter which was truly spectacular. My face hurt from smiling so much during the flight as we moved over the mountains and landed on the glacier. The pilot was friendly and smiley and seemed to enjoy our enjoyment . We felt very safe and in good hands. The glacier hike team were amazing. They really seem to know what they are doing and showed so much passion for their role. They worked together so well and the whole experience was so professional and efficient. Everything and all safety is thoroughly explained. The clothing gear is super comfortable, clean and warm. The guides hiked us through crevices and other sights of interest. Lots of photo opportunities and fun involved- interacting with us all through out. I think we had Will as our main guide ( and Stretch). They were both soo knowledgeable, informative, friendly and had amazing energies. This will be one of our BIG days to remember. Would do again!!

5.00It was BLAST! The whole operation was super organized and safety was taken seriously. The ‘blue zinc’ duo, Katlyn and Campbell, were fun and informative. The two of them were a great team who brought our group together which made it more memorable. Being in our mid 60’s it was very doable. This tour was definitely one of our ‘highlights’ (including the blue zinc) .

5.00We had an amazing heli-hike tour with Sam at Fox Glacier Guides. The pre trip briefing was excellent and the on glacier safety instructions were very thorough. We had plenty of time during the hike to experience the various features they had selected for the tour. Outstanding and highly recommended!
