Spend up to 3 hours hiking on the Fox Glacier, The fly-in, fly-out heli hike combines the excitement of walking on the Te Moeka o Tuawe/Fox Glacier with the thrill of helicopter flights. By flying in you can access and explore a part of the glacier where its forces work hardest and often create spectacular ice caves and arches. You will be outfitted with boots and crampons specially designed for these ice conditions. You follow the ice steps cut by your guide as you explore the amazing formations. Please note that this is a natural and ever-changing environment. Ice features change constantly and no guarantee can be given that specific features will be seen. This is a weather dependent trip. Unfortunately the trip got. Cancelled due to low cloud and rain. Cancellations and refund were dealt with reasonably efficiently the communication could have been a little more helpful but not much can be done when Mother Nature intervenes

While the only way to get onto the glacier is now by helicopter, a bit more of a helicopter tour before/after landing on the glacier would have made this outstanding. Still. The glacier use has shrunk over the global warming decades and very grateful to have been able to take my family into it. Guides were accommodating, friendly and informative.

Great day with very good guide. Cambell who was our guide was both knowledgeable and nice. All the other staff were also very nice. A super experience that I will remember for a long time.

This is an amazing experience! Zeki our guide was fantastic. Great at explaining the glacier & providing an interesting path across the surface. The helicopter flight is short but fantastic. We booked early in the day & the weather was clear, with clouds starting later in the day. From our two days in the area, I would definitely book the earliest session. Our teenagers loved it. lDress in layers & take sunglasses.

Such a great experience with our two adult daughters. Very professional with great equipment. A special shout out to Jody our guide who was so informative and fun. He made sure we felt comfortable and safe on the glacier at all times. He also shared great stories and connected well with all in the group.

This was a fun trip to do. Keeley was our guide and looked after us really well. It’s just a short 4 minute helicopter ride to the glacier. It was fun to hike up it and into some caves - I imagine it’d be epic with more snowfall
