DO NOT BOOK THIS !! BOOK THE CHEAPEST GAME DRIVE THEY OFFER OR GO TO NAIROBI PARK ITS HASSELL. FREE AND YOU SEE JUST AS MANY ANIMALS ON THE GAME DRIVE. I booked the safari game drive because my finance has talked about it forever. I booked 3 drives. Two with Nairobi park and one with Hells gate because I read it was better and you had a better chance of seeing the big 5 NOT TRUE! I received a text the night before about pick up details and was given a time 6:30. I noticed the night before that the forecast showed rain so I asked the driver while we were communicating about pick up about the concerns I had about the weather. Patrick I believe his name was insured that we would be good because by the time the rain started we would be done with the drive (we were cycling). Ok great, next morning came and I packed a nice little lunch, had my blue tooth speaker, and some wine to mimicking a picnic setting because I knew I booked a PRIVATE drive where we would have our personal guide. Mind you, they offer drives for a cheaper rate but I specifically chose a one slightly higher because I knew I wanted private. He got to our hotel after 8 no communication. I called 3 times and each time he said he was pulling up in 2 minutes then 10minutes and so on until I reached out to the company and they explained that the other group was delayed in coming out. Another reason I didn’t want to do a group excursion. When he came it was 5 women in the car minding myself and then my fiancé. He’s 6’2 285lbs solid so we noticed from jump we would have to sit separated him in the front and me in the back. He was uncomfortable from the beginning. I then showed Patrick and the guy he was riding with my receipt showing my ride should have been a private one and that it was my fiancé birthday and that fact was important. Be then said even after he seen the receipt that it was a mistake (what was advertised) and I needed to pay an xtra $60. I was livid but had already been waiting and didn’t want to make an even bigger deal about it especially since the manager said we would have to wait until she got us another car. AS IF WE HADNT WAITED 2 hours already. Ok so we get to the park and you have to set up an account through a Kenya company to pay the park fee but you can only do this on one of their devices if you have a iPhone which wasn’t a huge huge concern just felt like it would have been beneficial to know that information before hand. It started raining and the guide said we would ride the bike we would then drive, which caused some fuss in the group and he just opt to lets us cycle and someone follow behind in a van. We rode 5miles to the end and the rain proceeded, but next we were supposed to to hike and take our scenic photos. We got to do known because the guide and group said the weather was bad and we drove back. I felt so cheated and like everything was advertised falsely. My fiancé was upset because he was after the big five. Oh and then we had dinner reservations @ 6, the girls then decided last minute on an optional boat ride which was their right but because we started so late it pushed everything back so we missed out dinner reservations and he ended up eating Pizza Hut for his bday dinner. I feel like had I got what I booked (the private tour) or just booked all 3 games drives with Nairobi national park and e would have been satisfied.

This tour is so spectacular and should not be missed when in Kenya! It is hard to capture all that you get to see and do in the description. Our driver Patrick and guide Joseph are very skilled at providing a comfortable and memorable day. During our day tour, we learned about the Great Rift Valley, ride bikes through Hell’s Gate National Park where we saw giraffes, baboons, monkeys, zebras, and antelope up close. We were then treated to marvelous boat ride on Lake Naivasha where we saw hippos, a huge variety of birds, a rhino, zebras, giraffes, gazelles, water buck, and monkeys along the bank. We highly recommend this tour company and our driver Patrick and guide Joseph. Definitely not to be missed when in Kenya!

For the amount of money I paid nothing was covered at the lake or hellsgate. We didn’t go in to hello gate the cost was too much per person. The lunch wasn't that good either it was cold.

The hell’s gate and lake Naivasha boat tour experiences were pleasant. Festus was a good driver and took care of us. This tour is 3* because it isn’t quite a tour. You get yourself a good driver; and they will bring you to the 2 locations. However, once you get there it is pretty much the venue operator who defines your experience, and the entry fees and tips are all out of pocket. Hell’s gate was a highlight as we had Victor as our community guide. The boat tour we had Shadrack and he was very good at steering us in the waters. However; our experience in Crescent Camp is that they will overcharge you if they can. Prices are scribbled on paper and the cost of fishing is ridiculous, and not what they initially communicated. I would not recommend Crescent Camp if you are coming for this tour. Their life jackets are a complete joke. They are ALL spoiled. Extremely unprofessional and frankly, unacceptable. Also, at crescent camp you have to bring hard dollars if you don’t have mpesa. They do not accept credit cards. I was told only in the morning before departure but had mpesa but had no issues, but it could be an issue for you.
