  Great experience accessing the castle on the amphibian boat. The welcome at the entrance was very informative. I would have like to see more written information displayed about the history of the place. The highlight of the visit was easily the master gunner (Chris, I think). He was very knowledgeable and very skilled at firing the musket. He told us all about the gun, how it was made, how it was fired and how it was used in battle. Very entertaining.

  We walked out to the castle at low tide. The helpful guide informed us of what we could see. We went for a quick drink at the cafe and then made our way to the Parade Ground and waited for 'Sir Walter Raleigh' to appear. I have to say the tour that he took us on was both funny and interesting, making his historical life and times extremely vivid. Included in his tour was time in the actual house where he himself lived while living on the Island as Governor. If only history could have been taught like this when I was at school! This tour made the visit to the castle even better than it would have been otherwise.

  Walked across to Elizabeth castle from St Helier via the causeway linking the two .We purchased a heritage pass which allowed us entry to the castle and also 5 other attractions on Jersey .The castle is an amazing place to visit and is made even more special by the tour lead by ‘Sir Walter Rayleigh , we join the 12 o’clock tour which was extremely entertaining and informative,well with the entrance fee alone

  Have been over to the castle many times over the last 40plus years Sorry to say things have candor the worse Whole place needs a boost in spending Not the tourists attraction it use to be

  We had a fantastic time at Elizabeth Castle and this was made even more interesting and fun by 'Sir Walter Raleigh' who regaled us with many interesting facts and was a wonderful showman to boot! He made it a very memorable experience. We travelled to the Caste via the little ferry which again added to the whole experience. Brilliant!!

  A great castle to explore combining the original castle with more recent history of WW2 which blends in amongst the buildings. Took the ferry across to add to the experience. The musket demonstration “executed” by Charles Harvey was full of interesting facts, humour and just the right amount of blood and gore for the children to remember!   Finding the ferry is a challenge (its opposite the RBC building – nowhere near where Goggle maps sends you) but it was a delight to take a duck boat to the island and explore the very well restored castle and nearby hermitage. We enjoyed the history and being able to roam freely.

  About £25 adult including amphibious duck boat ,excellent value. Spent over 3 hours there, could have spent longer. We were extremely lucky to have had charles Harvey demostrate the musket. He has missed his vocation as a comedian. Very funny and knowledgeable , we wont forget him . Hence our thankyou in this review. The tour guide was also funny and knew the history inside and out.
