Afterward, continue to Ile aux Aigrettes, a tiny coral island just off the coast of the town of Mahebourg. The island has been declared a nature conservation site & is being preserved by the Mauritian Wildlife Foundation. The boat trip to Ile aux Aigrette departs from Pointe Jerome. You will discover Ile aux Aigrettes & enjoy original Mauritian nature with an expert guide alongside leading the way. You will discover plants & animals, unique to Mauritius & found nowhere else in the world. Some of them have come close to extinction like the pink pigeon, a bird that was in danger of extinction for many years. You will also visit the indigenous plant nursery. When visiting Ile aux Aigrettes you will get to see breath-taking scenery of the South East of Mauritius and will be given a glimpse of the history of Mauritius. You will also get to see beautiful trees with strange names like Ox wood, Pipe wood, Rat wood, and Bottle palm. There is also the chance to see a rare orchid in full bloom.

5.00Our guide was great. She did her best to give us as much information about the island as she could. She put a lot of effort on this. We saw all attractions we wanted so the trip in generally was very good.

5.00Our driver Hasheem had a super safe driving style and showed us the best spots in the east of Mauritius. We liked the Ile aux Aigrettes the best. Hasheem has also always told us a lot in between and even gave/showed us some insider tips.

5.00Our tour guide Yash was great, very friendly and knowledgeable. My wife gets very travel sick so the tour was a bit of a gamble but Yash was a brilliant driver. The variety of places we went was a great mix of natural beauty and informative history. Our slot for the island had to be moved for overbooking but Yash was great at planning on the fly to make sure we still saw as much as we could, and rearranged our lunch reservation to accommodate the later Ile Aux Aigrette slot. The island was well worth the trip, seeing the pink pigeons, tortoises and other nature the island offered was a once in a lifetime experience - but we do wish we'd taken mosquito repellant! It'll be a day we never forget

5.00Superb day at the bazaar of mahebourg and a great walk on the island of egrets. A few stops to discover the history of Mauritius Thank you to Vimal sam for his benevolence and professionalism. Take some sneakers for the island and a special mention for lunch you have to be patient but you will not regret it.

5.00Ile aux Aigrettes very educational and interesting. Mahebourg History Museum definitely worth a good visit. Blue Bay, the market fun. Lunch was terrific. Our driver was the best! Pleasant, knowledgeable, professional and safe. Thanks Ashutosh.

3.00Lack of communication by organisers- taken to a boat and send around the bay on this boat and driver left us, lack of information and not knowing who to contact. Workers on beach helped locate driver / guide and he returned and did seem to do his best, though not a tour guide. however this trip was not as stated on the site, we did not get to certain areas as scheduled in the list which was disappointing as it cost us lot of money.
