Travel to highest point on the entire north coast of the Dominican Republic - the summit of Mount Isabela de Torres! Relax during the slow, mountain ascent through the countryside and small villages. Once at the summit, delight in the spectacular views and refreshing climate at nearly 3000-feet. See the Christ Statue, enjoy a guided tour of the lovely botanical gardens and have excellent photo opportunities before re-boarding for the scenic descent. You will then make your way to Puerto Plata’s historic district featuring Umbrella Street, the grounds of Fort San Felipe, Paseo de Dona Blance (Pink Street) and Parque Independencia (Central Park). You will have the opportunity to enter the cathedral in Central Park before enjoying a bit of free-time to take photos or step into a shop. Bottled water is provided and our signature rum punch is served throughout.

Travelers should have at least a moderate level of physical fitness

Participants must be at least 21-years old to consume alcohol

The remaining (1 Hour and 40 minutes) will be allotted for the travel time from pick up until drop off.

Minimum age to participate is 4 years old

Must be able to stand and walk completely unassisted

Must be able to easily navigate inclines/declines, uneven pathways, narrow streets and slippery surfaces

Our guide, Jordan, was very informative about his home country. He and his team (Anna, Edgar, and Larry) took very good care of us while showing us around Puerto Plata and Mountain Top. He gave excellent tips on interacting with locals at each location. We felt safe and excited to explore. It is a good long walk from the Amber Cove port to get to/from the pick-up/drop-off location. All of the other vendors along the way were very helpful in getting us to where we needed to be. Highly suggest taking a water bottle as humidity is different there.

Fantastic tour - we were thrilled with Winston, our tour guide. Winston showed us all of the sites promised in the write-up, including going into the Cathedral to look around/pray and a short tour of the botanical gardens around the Christ the Redeemer statue. Would love to have seen more in the gardens! This is a strenuous activity, not because we walked far, but because of the conditions of the streets, the stairs, the paths, etc. Winston did a great job of helping the people that probably shouldn't have gone on the tour (or should have had walking poles for balance). It slowed the tour and took away a bit from how much we were able to see, but Winston did a good job balancing. The unending rum punch on the way back was enjoyed by all!

This tour gave us a chance to see a good portion of Puerto Plata. Only a few in our group went up the mountain and we were glad we did because the views were spectacular. We enjoyed the drive, rum punch and fresh local bananas. Winston was a fantastic guide. He was friendly and provided an amazing amount of information about the area.
