  Jorge went out of his way to give me the best hiking experience possible. Despite some very bad weather and lots of trails being closed, he showed me some of the most beautiful corners of Madeira. I spent three days walking with Jorge, and he would always come up with an amazing solution when our original plan had to be altered due to the weather. Jorge is very knowledgeable and great fun to walk with – look no further if you want to experience the outdoors with Madeira's best hiking guide!

  We did 2 superb hikes off the beaten track with Jorge who knows perfectly the flora and fauna of Madeira. Very friendly and attentive, it is always a pleasure to share the most beautiful places in Madeira with him. We definitely recommend him and look forward to making more discoveries with him during our next stays on this beautiful island.

  Great experience. Jorge was an amazing guide for the day with many good information about the Hiking tour and about Madeira! I can strongly recommend a tour with him!

  Jorge is absolutely adorable. We booked 2 hikes with him as part of our stay in a Surfcamp in Porto da Cruz. Jorge came to the house where we were staying to drive us to the hiking sites. Each time, he offered us several options for us to choose, and was very careful to adjust the hikes so it would please us as much as possible. He's got very interesting knowledge about plants and history of the trails, and we enjoyed discussing with him very much. We would recommend him to anyone willing to discover Madeira's levada's and other challenging hikes in the mountain :)

  Jorge is the best guide I could have met! He led us on a great adventure on a 22km and 1650m ascent tour around Pico Canario. He’s passionate about his mountains and you can tell that at every step you take together. Don’t think that’s so easy to find someone so in love with his job! I will plan with him my next treks because he knows all the off the beaten tracks and most beautiful trails of the island.

  Amazing hike - the trail itself was stunning and made all the better by having a great guide. Jorge was patient over the challenging terrain and a fantastic source of information on everything about the trail and the island (flora, fauna, history, other trails, you name it!) Will be my our first choice for exploring new trails when we return to Madeira.

  Excellent coastal hike showing the peaks in the distance , volcanic rock and cliffs. Great and friendly guide displaying wide and informative knowledge of the terrain. A welcome opportunity to jump in the ocean and a short stop at a beautiful cafe if wanted. Overall a very pleasant and informative experience, great for a half day moderate hike.   Under the expert guidance of Jorge we were able to make 2 beautiful walks, completely tailored to our needs. We arrived in full corana crisis and were very happy to have booked with Madeira Mountain Tours. Other organizations canceled their trips because there were too few participants. All understanding for that. It was all the more fun that Jorge did go out with just my wife and me! The contact was very personal that way. It was very nice that Jorge took our personal wishes into account. For example, there were no "mandatory stops". Furthermore, he is just a sensible and pleasant guy with whom you could have nice conversations. And before I forget: the walks themselves were also very beautiful: we fully enjoyed the natural beauty in Madeira. Do it!

  This hiking was such an amazing introduction to Madeira’s beautiful nature. Jorge has succeeded to make me want to go and see around the island more and more. Having so fun as well with a fascinating conversation with Jorge all the way thru!

  Jorge took our group of 15 on a brilliant hike! We spoke first about what type of hike might be good for the group and he gave us lots of options. He arranged picking us up and dropping us off and we even got to swim halfway along the hike (in early March!). Me and the rest of the group loved Jorge and he was so helpful at recommendations for places to eat etc (we went to some awesome places due to his recommendations). My Mum also did a separate hike with Jorge on a separate day with a couple of friends and also loved it just as much. Would 110% recommend exploring Madeira with Jorge.
