Indicative timetable:

13:00 hod. – Meeting at the lower parking lot at Podbanske

13:00 hod. – 14:30 hod. – Hike through the valley in the Western Tatras, approx. 1.5 hours up to one of the three adjacent Tatra valleys (Western Tatras) to the bear spotting places

14:30 hod. – 18:30 hod. – Arriving at wild bear viewing sites offering the best chances to spot a brown bear, combined with insights into the bears’ lives in the valley and training on how to behave in case of an encounter.

18:30 hod. – 20:30. – The way back along the hiking trail to Podbanske.

My tour guide was very accommodating considering the steep hike and my fitness level we went through the thick forest and onto the other side to see the mountain slopes and bears foraging in their natural habitat He was quick to spot them and help me to see them we seen also near and mother and cubs The experience was great and I will recommend anyone who is passing Slovakia to see this nature beauty of the mountains and forests

There's always a possibility that you won't see any bears as they are free to roam wherever they please in their natural environment. Thanks to the knowledge of our guide Stefan, we luckily did see a bear! We had the opportunity to watch it comfortably for quite a while, the bear even made a failed attempt to chase some deer. Stefan knows a lot about the bears and the area itself, he basically climbed all the peaks there! He is a very friendly and open guide, and easy to understand and communicate with in English. Would definitely recommend to take a bear watching hike with him and would also do it again if we would visit Slovakia in the future.

The tour goes about 7km each way. The guide is nice and friendly. He also explains a lot about this in understandable English. The cost is way too high, so three out of five. In six hours, a mother with her cubs, as well as an isolated bear could be seen. All not visible to the naked eye. You really need binoculars provided by the organizer.

After booking quick contact. Information what to bring and where we would meet. Everything went very smoothly. Booked for trip from 1pm to 9pm. Beautiful varied hike through a mooe gorge. Because of the warmth, the bears did not show themselves but because of the knowledge and tenacity of guide Stefan, bears were eventually spotted. Stefan is a walking bear encyclopedia; he really knows a lot and conveys this in a pleasant way. Highly recommended and would go out with him again.

Our guide took plenty of time to wait with us for the bears. He tailored the tour to our needs (our fitness level, our level of confidence, and where we preferred to see bears). Overall, it was a successful tour. He even modified the tour because the bears were taking their time to appear. Thanks
