5-day hiking adventure on the mountains that form the border between Bosnia and Herzegovina. It includes 4 different mountains, sleeping at 3 different locations, all part of white trail of Via Dinarica, and offer the best and most diverse hiking options. From rocky highlands of Čvrsnica, to rocky peaks of Prenj to grasslands on Bjelašnica, deep Rakitnica canyon, and the ridges of Visočica. All the trails are very beautiful and represent the best of each of the mountains. Yet, all of them are different from each other.

Čvrsnica is one of the highest mountains in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Together with Prenj mountain it is called the Himalaya of Herzegovina. Today’s hike is one of the most beautiful routes on the mountain. Climb the second highest peak – Veliki Vilinac 2118 m asl, see the highest lake in Bosnia and Herzegovina – Crvenjak at 2006 m asl, and the most famous rock in the country – Šuplja stijena, or popularly known as Hajdučka vrata.
Museum Battle for the Wounded on Neretva River
After the hike we will visit the memorial for the Battle for the Wounded from WWII in Jablanica.

Prenj
Prenj is one of the most beautiful mountains in Bosnia. So much that in Bosnian mountaineering community it's addressed as „Planet Prenj“ Spend two days climbing rocky peaks that rise from green valleys: the highest peak of the mountain – Zelena glava 2155 m asl, and two more peaks in the zone-2000: Otiš and Osobac, as well as a small, but stunning peak of Taraš.

Day 2 of our Prenj adventure takes us to the highest peak mountain located at the center of the mountain.

We will make a short walking tour of the old town of Konjic to visit the old bridge, Čaršijska mosque and talk about the history and legends of the town.

A trip to Lukomir highland village takes you through 2 other medieval villages, through one of the deepest canyons in Europe, over peaks, to UNESCO World Heritage site, to waterfalls, amazing viewpoints, 4 medieval necropoles in the most spectacular locations, crosses over the coldest mountain streams, makes you eat the freshest, tastiest traditional Bosnian food prepared by locals and made from local product grown just couple of meters away, you get to know the stories, history, legends, meet the locals and see the dragon of Umoljani. What more can you wish for in a single day?
Studeni potok
One of the most photographed mountain landscapes in Bosnia - Studeni potok (cold creek). We will talk about the legend of its origin, and have a nice walk next to the countless meanders the river makes.
Rakitnica canyon
On the edge of the valley we will be treated with a breathtaking view of Rakitnica Canyon, as well as the neighboring mountains. This is where we will make the first break, to take photos and eat some snacks before continuing through the canyon towards our last stop - Lukomir
Lukomir
The last stop, Lukomir village is a testament to old times. Village that lives the same life for more than 600 years, Bosnia’s highest and most isolated mountain village. The traditional lifestyles of the Bosnian highlanders are still practiced here, providing a unique window into the past. We will talk about the history, people, traditions, present and the future of the village. We will visit the local necropolis and climb the small peak offering the perfect views on the village, Rakitnica canyon, mt. Visočica, and peaks of Bjelašnica. Our hosts in Lukomir will prepare a fresh, warm, home-made traditional Bosnian meal from the local products.

A Circular hike on one of the most beautiful ridges in Bosnian mountains. The hike that is very popular among locals, but tourists rarely visit it. Only the views on Rakitnica canyon would make this hike worthwhile, but it offers so much more. An amazing ridge, at least three different peaks to climb, spectacular views and one fantastic canyon to see.

A visit to Dolovi necropolis, a UNESCO World Heritage site. We will talk about the history and legends of Umoljani and the surrounding area.

5.00"I want to see the mountains" is what I told Kenan. He took me on an 8 days trip and it was the best trip of my life! He took me hiking, climbing, walking barefoot through the river, made sure I ate the best Bosnian food and at the same time telling the history of Bosnia. If you are looking for adventure, he is your man!

5.00This is my third trip with Highlander and like expected I loved it! I was one of the first customers 6 years ago, and I can confirm that the trips are still very authentic just like in the beginning (with improvements/upgrades!). The guide is passionate about mountains, his culture, his country which makes it a very informative and unique tour mixing history, culture, nature, amazing food… just be prepared that during your hikes, he will make you eat half of the forest (very good berries and herbs though)… 😁 Also, the guide is certified mountain guide category A, B, C, certified by ERA for LQT trail certification and member of mountain rescue! So you’ll feel very safe in the mountain. I can only recommend this agency!

I’m not a regular Rando and he gave me a taste , Kenan is very pro , passionate about nature and his country , he taught us a lot!! I recommend this trip with my eyes closed a wonderful way to discover this beautiful country that is Bosnia.

5.00My first hiking experience and certainly not the last. I can't believe it. Everything was great. Beautiful landscapes for mountain lovers. Nature is, preserved and authentic. The locals are lovely. The food is excellent. The accommodation is great. What about our guide. Kenan is passionate about discovering the richness and beauty of his country. Patient, open, accessible, he accompanied us kindly on this trip. I highly recommend this trip!

5.00My friend and I had an absolutely fantastic time with Highlander Advebtures in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Our guide Kenan was truly brilliant. Though it was only the two of us, he went out of his way to give us a memorable trip, including planning us our own itinerary that matched our ability and challenged us a bit and meeting with us the night before our trip to go over the plan. Kenan’s knowledge of National and local history, both historical and current, the local flora and fauna and geography is outstanding and we learned a lot about the country. Food and accommodation were always very good, and I was well accommodated for as a vegetarian. We were kept very well fed during hiking with plenty of snacks Kenan carried. As for the country - Bosnia and Herzegovina are two very beautiful parts of the world and the hiking is outstanding. We had a really great time with a lot of laughs. Would recommend 100%. Only wish we could’ve stayed longer.

5.00I stayed in Bosnia for 2 weeks with a group of friends, and everyone agrees this was by far the best experience with the best guides. We especially fell in live with Prenj and it's many rocky peaks! Kenan and Adin were super friendly, nice, fun and organized. Night hike on Prenj was a super nice touch. Absolutely wonderful service 10/10

5.00Wow! The views, the food, and especially the guides! Our favourite part was the night hike to twin peaks at Prenj mountain. The trip was very well organized, it was just challenging enough, but easy enough to have time to enjoy the mountains! Mirza and Kenan were extremely attentive to all our needs, helping at the difficult parts, cooking, driving, teaching us about the plants, history, and all the peaks and mountains. If you're a hiker, do this!

5.00My first long hiking trip and first time visiting Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH). This was a month-long custom trip planned by my friend with the guide, Kenan. I initially joined the group for 11 days, but it was such a blast that I decided to come back for the last two weeks of the trip! The guide is super professional, adapting to the group pace but taking care also on those who have more difficulties, with the help of amazing mountain rescuers such as Adin. As previous comments say, the guide is really knowledgable, he will tell you the stories behind all the mountains, trails or cities we pass by. This is rare and it was super captivating! He cares about the mountains and its exceptional ecology and biodiversity that needs to be protected. Our safety is his primary concern, but also that we are enjoying the hikes and having fun! We had been climbing peaks, looking for caves and "stargates" to pass through. We also went rafting and on a via ferrata. He always tried to deal with what we expected and found alternatives if the weather was too bad so that we really make the most of our days. Kenan and Adin are so kind-hearted, funny, and passionate about their country and culture. We had so much laughs!! We enjoyed the best Bosnian food (ćevapčići, burek, pita, smokvara, tufahija, trileche, plum jam), Bosnian coffee and chichas, but the most important thing: ćeif ! This trip had been the best adventure of my life: exciting, challenging and at the same time relaxing. I will definitely come back to BiH, spend some more time in Sarajevo and in Mostar (and hopefully we'll have bomb cakes this time!! ^^), but especially climb other peaks with these guys ! The landscapes and the views when you reach the tops are just breathtaking, you get addicted to it. I can't better recommend to visit BiH and go hiking on the via Dinarica than with Highlander Adventures, you won't regret it !
