The Black River Gorges National Park, 67.54 km² of pure, wild, nature. The heart of Mauritius island, home of many endemic species, both animal and floral.
It offers a great discovery of the nature of the island.
During this hike we will discover different viewpoints from which we can contemplate different parts of the park and its surroundings.
Half-way up our climb, we discover the “Mare aux Joncs Gorge” that we like to call the “Bats Valley” because of the thousands of Mauritan Fruit-Bats we can observe there.
On top of our ascension, at 400m above sea level we get an amazing sight on the West-Coast, its lagoons and beautiful villages amountains. From there, we start our back back down to the river where we can stop to enjoy a nice swim before continuing to the parking lot of the park.

5.00Loved the experience with Henry - who paced our trek very well, was very knowledgeable and ensured that everyone in the group was well taken care of and left fully satisfied and with a smile on their face. The forest itself is amazing - a living ecosystem of greens. And the hike was a 6km loop with an elevation gain of 300m with good views - with the ascent in the first half with a gradual descent in the second half.

4.00Pleasant little hike that allows to arrive at the plateau Resmousse pretty point of view. The walk is quite easy and in shaded area most often. We were accompanied by Henri, a very beautiful person cultured and passionate who will advise you in the best way on all things to do during your stay. Thank you Henri for this nice time and I will not fail to contact you during an upcoming trip to this island ... Long live the Bretons 😉

5.00It is an easy hike, but some parts of the trail have steeper climbs. The guide told us a lot about the fauna and flora and had prepared several riddles. It was a very pleasant way to spend the morning.

5.00The tour went 3 hours without much effort through the national park. Théo, the tour guide has been very open-minded and communicative. The small group of 5 participants had learned a lot about the flora and fauna there from him. I can highly recommend the tour.

5.00We did a morning hike with Eliza. Really nice guide, talkative and friendly! We saw some monkeys and enjoyed a bath in the river.

5.00We booked this guided hike as part of a family holiday to Mauritius. I would not hesitate to recommend Yanuture. They are a professional outfit and we booked a couple of yours plus drivers with them and everything was seemless. The hike had fabulous views, monkeys, bats and a bit of wild swimming. What more could you ask for? But the stand out was out tour guide Paj. He was so knowledgeable and engaging. He built in rest stops for the kids and moved at our place. My youngest son is disabled (autism) and he loved Paj!! Paj was so kind and thoughtful in jus interactions. He made it such a special experience.

5.00We enjoyed this hike, during our honeymoon, accompanied by the super guide Eliza! His clear and interesting explanations added that little extra that made hiking great. His knowledge of the place, the more difficult passages and the viewpoints allows to fully enjoy this moment. Regarding the ride itself, the start is made in a path among the trees, to quickly tip over the only climb that, by making the adapted breaks, does well. For the rest you just have to enjoy the view of the fauna and flora.
