House of Museums Malacca

House of museum located beside the Malacca River with just 8 minutes of walking distance from Jonker Walk. A house full of antiques that will sure bring back memories from the past if you are born in the 50s to 70s. From the olden days cinema, medicine shop to the rubber estate and more! Kids are also welcomed to experience how life is in the past. If you are interested, do check out this museum! St. Petri (St. Peter's Church)

The Portuguese occupation of Melaka ended when Melaka fell to the Dutch in 1641.[1] This was followed by period of persecutions of the Catholics in Melaka by the Dutch. Churches were destroyed and Catholics were not permitted to have their own cemeteries or even pray in their homes. Priests were also forbidden from administering their flocks. The war of the Spanish Succession resulted in an alliance formed between the Portuguese and the Dutch in 1703. This resulted in the Dutch adopting a softer stance towards the Portuguese Catholics. After years of persecutions, a piece of land was donated by a Dutch convert and the St. Peter's Church was built in 1710

Amazing tour led by our tour guide Mr. Sara. We toured Malacca’s churches, places of worship, jonker street, and were treated to some delicious indian cuisine! Thank you!

Awesome tour. Guide/driver picked us up at the hotel in KL as scheduled. During the drive to Malacca he explained a lot about the history of Malaysia and Malacca specifically. Having been to the History Museum the day before helped us put everything into perspective. The walking tour in Malacca was very nice, and the lunch at a Nyonya restaurant delicious. Would recommend this private tour over one of the cheaper large group bus tours.

Disappointed. Information said trip to Melaka would take about 1 1/2 hours. Took 4 hours. Left late. Driver only. No guide. Driver did his best to show me around but kept looking things up on google and Wikipedia to tell me about things. I was happy to walk but driver seemed tired by the walking and thought the 4K we walked was a lot of walking! I didn’t think it was much at all. The included lunch very disappointing in a very cheap place. Then very long drive back to hotel in KL.

Enjoyed walk around Malacca with guide. A lot to see and my guide, Chandran, was very knowledgeable. A few tips if visiting on a Friday. Ask the tour provider to leave at 7am if possible to beat traffic. Also museums close on Fridays 12.15 to 14.45. Ask the guide to have free time before the guided tour rather than vice versa.

Wow, what a day. We had the most informative tour to Malacca, while in Malacca and on our return trip to KL. Thank you Chandra, your extensive knowledge ensured we learned the history of Malacca and saw absolutely everything we were meant to.

Very easy and smooth experience being picked up from our hotel and driven to malacca from KL, stopping off at st Peter's church along the way. Our driver was very friendly and accommodating teaching us little bits about Malaysia as we drove. The city of malacca itself is stunning and our tour guide took us through harmony street and jonker street once we had a chance to explore the red square. He also took us to an Indian restaurant for lunch that had the best biryani I've ever had!

Had a great day out. The guide was very informative, we had time to wander at our leisure and a proper lunch was included. Pickup and return was from our hotel, on time and the 2 of us had a minibus to relax in for the 2 hour trip.

We had an amazing time traveling from KL to Melaka. The stops were very interesting and quick. The town of Melaka was very interesting based on all of the Countries that have controlled the city. Our tour guide really made the trip incredible. He was very knowledgeable about the city and the history, and all of the stories were fantastic. I would highly recommend this trip if you enjoy history! Buckle up as traffic can be pretty brutal to and from KL and Melaka. But don’t let that scare you from booking a trip!
