Grote Markt square is the heart of Antwerp. It is filled with gorgeous medieval guild houses, the City Hall and the Brabo Fountain in the middle. Here our guide will share the history and legends behind the square and its monuments.
Hendrik Conscience Statue
Named after the Flemish writer Hendrik Conscience, this atmospheric square truly is an architectural and intellectual treasure. It hosts an impressive baroque church and the old city library.

4.00Completed this walking tour with Luc D in April 2026. Overall the tour was nice and Luc was super friendly, fun and entertaining throughout. We were touring on a Sunday and learned while on the tour that a couple of the stops are not open on Sundays. I believe that the tour should have been altered to see other sites on Sundays for the continued enjoyment of the group. Otherwise, it felt like we were missing out and not getting the full tour promised to us. Hopefully this makes sense as I wasn't the only person in our group that felt this way. We still tipped well but wanted to send along our feedback. Thank you for your consideration!
