Missed the bus!! Get better meeting directions next time!

The Hobbiton tour and tour guide were amazing, but poor meeting directions resulted in several people missing our tour bus. Phone directions to the given address send you to Sky City which is around the corner and out of sight line from the bus terminal. We had to pay for a taxi to drive us to meet the tour at great personal expense ($504). I would recommend more detailed directions for the meeting place for future users. Our bus driver was quirky but very safe, informative and timely. Wouldn’t change a thing about the actual tour.

Experience was good. It was rather quick would have liked more time in the hobbit house and lunch. 45 minutes for lunch is way too short.

Great day out , David our bus driver was very entertaining . Wonderful lunch and plenty of it and drink at the Inn to top it off !
Worth it even if you haven’t seen the movies

Really well organized tour and our driver/guide Rachel and the guide at Hobbiton were both so kind and fun. I haven’t even seen the movies but I really enjoyed the experience, which is so detailed and well thought out. The lunch was also delicious and plenty of food!

Have plenty of power on your phone (because you’re going to take lots of nice photos) and then you need to wear jogging shoes or outdoor shoes.

Very well organized in every way! Loved the whole experience! Captured the essence of Hobbiton beautifully! Spring is a gorgeous time of year to go! The flowers were just beautiful and the hills were so green! The sets were perfect with incredible magical detail and Micky was a wonderful driver with great commentary along the way. Mackinzie was fabulous as a group leader and kept everything organized and moving as well as being fascinating. The lunch buffet and green dragon drink was so special too. Only think that could have been better were the instructions on where to find the tour. We were wandering around looking for the actual tour location. 102 Hobson Street address is not enough! Should add, Platform 5 or Column 5.....to be more specific. We wasted time looking in the wrong places.

Overall good experience.Only draw back was tables set for the lunch was arranged too close together leaving a very cramp space to enjoy the lunch

Excellent guides - David was the coach driver, and was truly entertaining. Andrew was the guide at Hobbiton, and he was very good as well. They made the day special. Hobbiton itself is great, although it felt a bit rushed, but that's not the fault of the tour companies - there are SO many visitors here, and this is such a money-churning operation, that the system has to work like a conveyor belt. The lunch was excellent! Overhaul, I'd recommend it. Tip : the coach comes at stop 1 of the Bus Station at 102 Hobson St. There will be a girl on a desk outside who will give you the ticket. Be there early - our coach left at 7:07 (official time 7:15am) as everyone on the tour was already seated.

It was excellent. Very well organized and we enjoyed it well.The driver very friendly with an excellent lunch.
