  The remarkable planning that went into laying out the shire. I watched The Hobbit before visiting the site-my adult sons are huge fans and to actually see it as it appears on screen was so fun. The details, working chimneys, clothes on the line and guessing what each home owners job is based on what we see. As a travel agent I would highly recommend the as a must see when in New Zealand. Thank you for the privilege.

  The best part was Hobbiton, but the journey from the port to the set was very comfortable and informative. Note that you have to make your ticket purchase for Hobbiton. Our driver, Alan, was friendly and made sure we got to our appointment at the gate and back to the ship in time. Only thing that was a little off, was not telling us when we needed to be at the port for pickup.

  This was the most incredible way to spend my 50th Birthday! Favorite memory hands down is the tour group leader started in the most memorable singing of Happy Birthday right where Bilbo Baggins 111th Birthday celebration was in the heart of Hobbiton around the maypole!

  The tour provider, Adventure and Cultural tours delivered more than expected, not only where they always on time picking and dropping us throughout the tour but also all the information and fun facts by Allan were spot on and fun! The homemade gluten free brownie snacks was also a hit with everyone. Allan not only was a great driver but also a great photographer as he willingly took pictures of us at the highlight stops in Tauranga. I would recommend this tour to anybody looking for a magical experience and getting value for your money.

  Fantastic tour, operators knew the importants of getting us back on time for the ship. Enjoyed the additional stops both before and after but the tour of Hobbiton was a wonderful experience and well worth the cost. Our guide knew the area well and some of the legends which I truely enjoyed.
