We are the only Tauranga based tour company with a Hobbiton trained tour guide. When you join us on tour you will also have free Wi-Fi and USB charging points in the vehicle. We are also provide refreshments and snacks during our tour.
You and your travelling companions can experience the best of Tauranga and the renowned 'Hobbiton' with assurance of knowing we have you in mind.

Hobbiton Movie Set
Hobbiton Movie Set 'The Shire' is home of Frodo, Bilbo and many other wonderful Hobbit's. This is the main destination of this tour. Admission is excluded - as we are unable to source tickets for cruise ship passengers. We will be at Hobbiton for approximately 3.25 hours where you will experience a magical 2.5 hour guided tour of The Shire, Hobbit homes and The Green Dragon Inn.
McLaren Falls Park
This picturesque park really is a delightful stop during your Tauranga and Hobbiton Journey. This wonderful lake captures the true beauty of Tauranga with native trees, birds, ducks, swans and the occasional sheep. Home to Trout and even glow worms for evening kayak trips this park is something special. Incorporating McLaren Falls this a wonderful stop where you can really experience New Zealand's diverse architecture and potentially get your feet wet in our beautiful clean waters.

5.00Loved our day with Alan, a British veteran who made NZ his home several decades ago. He provided an insider’s view of the area and NZ along the way. McClearan gardens & falls was a nice pitstop and we appreciated the water & snacks, especially the brownies. The drive’s scenery was beautiful. Hobbiton was amazing to see - so much attention to detail.

5.00Hobbiton was better than expected. Tour guide Keith was very good snd brought the place alive. Kept expecting Hobbits to make an appearance to surprise us. Made my day when he said my wife was small enough to qualify as a Hobbit. Especially as i managed to record the moment. Alan the tour driver kept us well entertained to and from Hobbiton despite some hiccups but he recovered very well from them. Overall we recommend both Hobbiton and tour company

5.00This was one of my best trips. We started off at McLaren Falls park to see the waterfall and the dam but the whole park was beautiful then onto the fantastic Hobbiton! This was well worth the money and spent over 2 hours at this beautiful sight. Amanda was a great tour guide and kept us going with snacks and water and was very knowledgeable

5.00Alan was waiting outside the cruise terminal with a placard with our name and easy to find. He provided great commentary on our journey and managed our tickets for us at Guest services that we had pre-purchased. We then took a Hobbiton bus to the movie set. Our guide was Lana at Hobbiton and walked us through the more than 40 Hobbit homes. We were able to enter one of them that was fully-furnished for photos. It was amazing! We ended up at the Green Dragon Inn for an included brew. We were able to purchase a hot pie for $8, which was great. Afterwards, Alan took us to McLaren Falls which capped off the day. He was a great guide and very enjoyable.
