We are the only Tauranga based tour company with a Hobbiton trained tour guide. When you join us on tour you will also have free Wi-Fi and USB charging points in the vehicle. We are also provide refreshments and snacks during our tour.

Hobbiton Movie Set
Hobbiton Movie Set 'The Shire' is home of Frodo, Bilbo and many other wonderful Hobbit's. This is the main destination of this tour. Admission is excluded - as we are unable to source tickets for cruise ship passengers. We will be at Hobbiton for approximately 3.25 hours where you will experience a magical 2.5 hour guided tour of The Shire, Hobbit homes and The Green Dragon Inn.
McLaren Falls Park
This picturesque park really is a delightful stop during your Tauranga and Hobbiton Journey. This wonderful lake captures the true beauty of Tauranga with native trees, birds, ducks, swans and the occasional sheep. Home to Trout and even glow worms for evening kayak trips this park is something special. Incorporating McLaren Falls this a wonderful stop where you can really experience New Zealand's diverse architecture and potentially get your feet wet in our beautiful clean waters.

Easy peasy if your on a cruise ship

5.00Came off the cruise ship and we were met right there! Super easy and so nice to be in a smaller group than the excursion groups and at half the price too. The WiFi on the van was a nice surprise and use it to download it the Hobbiton app so you’re all ready upon arrival. What a fun day. Our guide was informative, super sweet and accommodating in every way. We left on time and arrived back 10 minutes early. Highly recommend. Buy your Hobbiton ticket direct on their website.

5.00Allan picked us up at the exact spot that was described and proceeded to show us a beach community and a beautiful remote park built by the McClaren family on the way to the Hobbiton pickup port. He was an interesting a friendly guy and shared much about life in New Zealand with us. He promptly met us at the end of the tour for the ride home that included another picture stop. We have taken about 100 shore excursions and this one is the best.
A must-see whether you like LOTR or not!

5.00It was AWESOME! So well done! Beautiful landscape, Nice controlled flow of people. Nice scenic drive out to site. Nice rest stop at McLaren Falls. Good commentary by our bus driver Amanda. Now you can walk thru a Hobbit house. The attention to detail was incredible. Nice beer at end of tour. Got back to ship in plenty of time. No problems.

5.00Loved our day with Alan, a British veteran who made NZ his home several decades ago. He provided an insider’s view of the area and NZ along the way. McClearan gardens & falls was a nice pitstop and we appreciated the water & snacks, especially the brownies. The drive’s scenery was beautiful. Hobbiton was amazing to see - so much attention to detail.
