Due to the delicate ecosystem within the Waitomo Caves, photography is not permitted inside. This policy helps protect the glowworms, ensuring the preservation of this unique environment.

Children aged 7 years and below are required to travel in a child safety car seat. You can provide your own or one can be provided for $20 NZD (with 24 hours notice).

3.00Hobbiton was fabulous, a must see. Waitomo Cave OK at best. I was the last person picked up so stuck in the last row that doesn't recline and can't hear the music. Next time I will find a smaller tour.

5.00The ride both ways was smooth and filled with interesting facts Liam shared about the surrounding areas and country. We even got some snacks throughout the trip which was great. Hobbiton was amazing and our guide was really good there. The worms were a bit disappointing but I think it depends on the guide you get.

5.00Fantastic from start to finish, From the early hours of the morning to the dinner time return, Liam (tour guide) filled us with his knowledge along the roads to Hobbiton, via a service station for a morning coffee and pie. Hobbiton was brilliant, you have to visit too understand. Lunch was delicious and plentiful before heading to the Wiatomo Glowworm caves, this was also awesome, the day was completed with a stop off for some Tip Top Ice cream on our way home, very tasty.

5.00We booked the tour quite spontaneously because other plans have broken down and were only a bit unsettled about the price (around 200 euros) . Now, in retrospect, we know that it was really worth every euro! The group of 16 people was a good size and even the trip to Hobbiton was very interesting as our companion (Liam) had many facts and stories about Auckland and New Zealand in store. You could also ask him anything, which was really great! The tour of Hobbinton was really beautiful and also there was the gentleman who conducted us nice and very competent . After that we were at lunch, so the portions were good. And then we went to the Waitomo Caves, which were not actually on our list, but they are really highly recommended! We also got a very good lead (from Ta Me) there. On the way back we had an ice cream and were then dropped off by Liam at or very close to our accommodations. So in short, tour absolutely recommended and Liam does a mega job as a tour guide ☺️.

5.00I would highly recommend this tour. Hobbiton is amazing. It’s a beautifully maintained property and the trip includes a gorgeous drive through the countryside. Our driver Grant was terrific.
