My husband and I have always been ones to go “off the beaten path“ and see places and things that the ordinary tourists do not see. Rather than do the traditional Victoria Peak or Big Buddha tours, we asked Kiyo to customized a tour for us. 20,000 steps later, we were exhausted, but really happy with the tour he gave us. Kiyo’s English skills are superb, and we never had trouble understanding him. He also warned us virtually every time there were uneven surfaces or possible trip hazards as we walked the city. He was very conscientious of our safety. When we were tried of walking, he took rest breaks and even hired a taxi so that we wouldn’t have to overexert ourselves. One of the best parts of the tour was that Kiyo took us to the government housing complex where he grew up, and we were able to see the neighborhood and school where he played and learned as a child. He took us to a Michelin recommended wonton noodle soup restaurant (yum!), but he also took us to a diner in his childhood government subsidized housing unit where we had “Chinese French toast” which is two slices of Texas toast connected by a thick layer of peanut butter. The peanut butter sandwich is then dipped in egg and lightly deep-fried and served with butter and syrup. Kiyo told us that you haven’t really visited Hong Kong if you haven’t had Chinese French toast. Can’t believe I never tried this when I lived here. Our itinerary: Star Ferry Wanchai Markets (Tai Yuen Street, Lee Tung Street) Ding Ding Tram Central Statue Square & HSBC Bank Building Queen Road Central Tsim Chai Kee Wanton Noodle (Michelin recommended) Central Escalator System Tai Kwun (Big Police Station) Che Kung Temple Tsang Tai Uk (Hakka Walled Village) Ping Shek Estate Kam Wah Cha Chaan Teng (Chinese French Toast) Kiyo is perfectly willing to customize your tour, however you want it. If the major touristy sites are what you want to see, that’s where he will guide you. He is indeed a great storyteller, and was able to give us more than just historical names and dates, but rather very interesting anecdotes about the places that we saw. Highly recommended.

Kiyo was phenomenal. His knowledge was amazing. We learned many things about china and Hong Kong that gave us an insight into the history and culture of this great city I only hope that our tour guides in the cities we visit next are as good as Kiyo

If you want to see a lot of Hong Kong in a short time Kio is your guy! Kio contacted me prior to arrange our meeting place then greeted us at the Cruise terminal and we were off on a wonderful day!! Kio not only showed us the sights but explained the history behind them and this made it so much memorable. (He spoke ver clear English as well.) We had a very interesting and delicious tea and saw how the people still use natural medicine methods. We saw historical sites and and the different markets.. We absolutely loved this tour! Highly highly recommend!!!

There can be no place without History. Thank you for everyhting. Sharing your passion, your cultur, your cuisine, the history of each place visited was just a confirmation that Hong Kong is an exceptional destination. Thank you again for this day which was one of the best moments of my stay in Hong Kong. I won’t forget Steven and Steve, Batman’s tower... Merci Beaucoup. Loïc From Paris!
