Skip the usual tourist spots and join us for an unforgettable Hooiberg Hill hike! Whether you’re an early riser, a sunset lover, or a night explorer, you can choose between a sunrise, sunset, or night tour each offering incredible views of Aruba.
We’ll take on 600 steps together, making a few stops along the way to catch our breath, snap some photos, and you will be able to hear some interesting stories about the hill’s history.
At the top, you will be rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views of Aruba from above. You’ll get a whole new perspective of the island being able to see its coastline, landscapes, and city lights stretching out in every direction. Whether you're watching the sunrise paint the sky, catching the last golden rays of the day, or gazing up at a sky full of stars, the view is absolutely worth the climb.

Upon your arrival, we'll meet at the base of the hiking trail. Our main guide, Mikhael, will accompany you up the steps. There will be several rest stops along the way where you can take in the beautiful views and snap some pictures. At the top, you'll reach a main viewing area offering panoramic views of the island.

5.00This hike was amazing! We did this hike on the first day of our trip and it literally set the tone for vacation mode. It was easily one of our top 3 memories of the trip. Despite our taxi getting us there later than agreed (taxi went on a little detour...) Mikhail was patient, understanding and totally unbothered. My partner and I are very athletic so we zipped up there sooner than we expected however Mikhail made as many stops as we needed or wanted to get pictures in. He did a great job of explaining the history of Hooiberg Hill and its importance to the Island and people of Aruba. Worth Considering: - This hike *could* be difficult for individuals with physical challenges - There isn't a safety railing from start to finish, so if you have balance issues, be careful. - If you're ADHD and athletic (like me!) you can make it up there in 20 minutes, but you get to take as many photo/catch your breath breaks as you need. I HIGHLY recommend this tour! We even told Mikhail we will book another hike up with him, when we come back with our kids next year! If you love physical activities and history you will absolutely enjoy this hiking tour. All there is to it. 10/10 Recommend.

4.00It was a great experience. I’d never hiked before, and even though there were a lot of steps, my guide Michael never pressured or rushed me. The hike could be done solo, but having Michael along was a big plus—he was very informative about the island, so I learned a lot along the way.

1.00I booked this experience specifically as a sunrise hike, expecting a knowledgeable local guide who was familiar with Aruba’s history and the area. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing from start to finish. First, the tour guide arrived late, which caused us to miss the sunrise entirely — the main reason I booked this tour in the first place. There was no meaningful apology or attempt to make up for this. The guide openly stated that he is a 21-year-old American, not a local, and admitted that much of the information he shared was pulled from Google. He mentioned that his parents own a resort and that he does this tour on the side for extra money while working a full-time remote job. This made it clear that the tour lacked genuine expertise or local insight. For $50, I essentially paid for information I could have easily accessed on my own by walking the area or listening to a history podcast. When I expressed my disappointment, the guide did not understand why I was upset and refused to issue a refund. To make matters worse, after offering to drop me back at my hotel, he asked for an additional $10 after I was already in the car and he was driving, which felt very uncomfortable and unprofessional. This tour may appeal to people with very low expectations, but I felt misled and overcharged. I would not recommend this experience to anyone looking for an authentic sunrise hike or a quality tour in Aruba.

5.00Hooiberg Hill hike with Mikhael was a highlight of our trip. We went at sunrise and the view was fabulous. Hiking with a guide made the event much more enjoyable since Mikhael was able to give use some history of the location and point out various sites on the island. I would highly recommend going on this while you are in Aruba.

5.00It could have been a self tour but I preferred with a local cause there were a lot of stray dogs who follows you. I’m scared of dogs. The tour guide was courteous and knowledgeable.

5.00Very good experience. It had perfectly planned timing in the afternoon. We were able to get to the top and see the whole island in the daylight and then catch a beautiful view of the sky just before sunset. Mikhael was very friendly and helpful. He shared a lot of interesting information about Hooiberg Hill and Aruba overall. Very interesting and different experience from usual Aruba activities. Highly recommend!

5.00Having a guide as we walked up the trail was very useful. Along with providing a background narrative of the trail, he was very patient and encouraging as we climbed. Overall, we enjoyed the challenge of climbing the trail and the beautiful views that awaited us when we reached the summit. We would recommend the experience to anyone who visits the country.

5.00As nervous as I was going into it solo, Mikhael was so kind. He waited patiently each time I needed a little breather and he provided history throughout the journey up the steps. He is very sweet natured and makes you feel as though you’ve known one another for many years. He even gave an unexpected gift at the end of the hike as a congratulations for making it to the top. If you’re even considering, don’t hesitate, and enjoy the climb. I did mine at sunrise and it was beautiful!

5.00This past Sunday I signed up for the sunset hike up Hooiberg. The hike was about an hour in total and offered stunning views of the island. This is a perfect evening activity to squeeze in before dinner. What a beautiful and memorable way to end my Aruba trip, thank you Michael!
