• Ride a horse in the Andes!

  Our driver, Lautaro, was punctual, friendly and informative about Chile. At the riding stable (only about 25 minutes from Providencia) we were given protective leggings and a helmet, and enough instruction for beginners. Led by our guides Mario and Andrea (who speaks excellent English) we then rode a full 2.5 hours up into the hills, pausing occasionally for water or to take photos. You overlook Santiago, but are far enough away from the city that it is completely peaceful. On the way we saw wild rabbits, a fox, many birds of prey, and (perhaps unusually) a condor. A few times Mario led us in a fast trot - the ground is mostly quite soft, and not too rough. After the riding, the picnic part of the tour wasn’t available so Lautaro took us for award-winning empanadas, and (unexpected treat) a visit to a notably good craft market where we bought all the gifts & souvenirs that we wanted from our visit to Chile. If you want a good half-day riding experience, we’d recommend this tour.

  Our horseback ride was a wonderful experience during our week‑long stay in Chile. Juan arrived right on time at the hotel to pick us up, and he was very professional and kind. His knowledge of the local pre‑Columbian history was truly impressive. When we arrived at the farm, we were welcomed by Lawrence, our guide. Our group was small, which made the experience even more personal and enjoyable. Lawrence was very patient with us, especially since for some people it was their first time riding a horse. He explained how to maneuver the horse, reviewed safety guidelines, and shared the history of the area. He guided us from the lower grounds to the higher areas in the mountains, carefully navigating tight curves and dense vegetation. I truly appreciated the excellent work done by Lawrence at the farm. After the ride, Juan picked us up and took us to the village of Los Dominicos, which was a wonderful experience overall. The price for the activity was also quite decent, making it even more worthwhile.

  This tour is pretty nice! The view is beautiful from the mountains, but there is no picnic and use a lot of sunscreen, as the sun is relentless. However, it is worth it, the contact with the place, the horses and the percussion!

• Calm horses and great guide

  Our day started with a hotel pick up from our guide, Lautaro. Lautaro was a fantastic guide, we had only arrived in Chile the day before and Lautaro gave us so much information about food in Santiago, Chilean history and how to stay safe. This made the drive to the ranch very worthwhile. Lautaro then came along for the horse ride so that he could translate for the ranch manager. They definitely take safety very seriously. On our day there was a slight bit of rain, and the owner said if there is heavy rain it would become to unsafe and he’d need to cancel. That made us really comfortable that they put safety first over making money. We were very lucky, the heavy rain held off and we enjoyed a great ride. The horses are really well behaved and calm, catering to all skill levels. The saddles were also really comfortable.

  This is a must when visiting Santiago. Lautaro our guide was incredible, the pick up was easy and he gave us many recommendations. The actual tour was once in a lifetime. The horses are very calm, and great even if you are a first time rider like me. The views are incredible and we even saw a condor! Would do it again if we had more time. Couldn’t recommend it enough.

  The ride was amazing and so much fun! Horses were in fabulous shape. The ranch owner and our guide were so nice and professional.

  The trip was wonderful. As a first time rider, I was a little concerned, yet I really wanted to go as I knew I couldn’t see the same Mountain View any other way. Yet I soon realized there was no concern. Everyone from Mauricio, our main tour guide, to Tonio, our tour guide while riding, was incredibly hospitable. Mauricio was on time, dependable, and shared so much about Chilean culture with our group. Tonio made me feel safe. I not only got an older, more peaceful horse named Catan, but Tonio helped me redirect Catan the few times Catan strayed slightly off the course. The excitement of riding Catan and seeing the beautiful view of the Andes was incredible. I would recommend it to anyone wanting this experience.
