On the way, we stop at the **Burana Tower**, a minaret from the 12th century with panoramic views of the Chuy Valley and remnants of the Karakhanid civilization. You can explore the on-site open-air museum, which displays ancient **balbals** (stone warrior statues) and petroglyphs. The journey continues along a picturesque section of the **Great Silk Road**, now used as a trade route between Kyrgyzstan and China, offering a glimpse of the region’s economic pulse with trucks hauling goods. Driving distance: 140 km After an hour drive from Naryn, we take a scenic ascent over the switchbacks of **Bosogo Pass**. The landscape unfolds into the vast **Ak-Sai Valley, flanked by snow-capped peaks and dotted with summer nomadic yurts. We drive about 3-hours in this valley. Arrival at our yurt camp. Lunch will be served at our camp, followed by some time to relax. In the afternoon, enjoy a gentle hike to nearby hills for panoramic views of the valley, where yaks and sheep graze peacefully. Don’t forget your camera—this is a perfect opportunity for wildlife photography and capturing authentic moments of nomadic life.

Riding distance: 13 km, Ascent/Decent: 514 m / 414 m After breakfast, meet your horse and receive a short riding briefing from the guide. We ride into the small valley following a trail that crosses rivers and winds through high meadows. The ascent to Sazduu Pass (3,770 meters) offers a thrilling bird’s-eye view of the surrounding snowy mountains. Keep your binoculars ready—we often encounter **Marco Polo sheep** or **ibexes** grazing near the pass. Descend into a lush Ak Sai Valley where clear streams wind between grassy slopes, home to more wild goats and sheep. We set up camp near the river. You will have a chance to learn how to prepare simple meals with your guides in this beautiful wilderness setting.

Riding distance: 18 km, Ascent/Decent: 470 m / 488 m Continue your journey deeper into the wilderness, crossing a second mountain pass named Car Pass at 3,791 meters. From the summit, take in sweeping views of the remote mountain range beyond—untouched nature at its best. Descend along narrow paths through a valley, where the sound of horse hooves is the only thing that breaks the silence. We cross a river and ascend gently towards Eshek Tor Pass at the foot of a snow-capped peak that looms majestically over our route. Watch for grazing yaks, sheep, and goats along the hillsides. As we arrive at our camping spot, enjoy some time to relax and soak in the peaceful surroundings before nightfall. Overnight in a tent.

Riding distance/time: 12 km / 3 hours by horse, Driving distance: 140 km, Ascent/Decent: 180 m / 261 m After breakfast, mount your horse and set off toward the hidden gem of Kel Suu Lake. This surreal alpine lake is tucked between dramatic cliffs and rocky outcrops. Its emerald waters are a stunning contrast to the jagged gray peaks surrounding it. Spend time walking along the lake’s shores, taking photos, and soaking in the magical atmosphere. Return to the yurt camp for a farewell lunch before driving back to Naryn. 5.00The 6-day trek to Kel Suu was truly a once in a lifetime experience. The scenery was breathtaking, the horses were amazing, and everything was so well organized. Our guide Sanjar made the trip extra special with his knowledge, humor, and genuine care for everyone in the group. I loved the mix of stays from yurts to guesthouses and even a tent night. I always felt welcomed and completely immersed in Kyrgyz culture. This tour exceeded all my expectations and I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a unique and unforgettable journey.

5.00Amazing tour with Sanjar, the best guide ever! We spent a dreamlike six days in the Kyrgyz mountains. Everything was well-organized, we just had to relax and enjoy. The transportation in the minibus was great, thanks to a very friendly driver. Sanjar led us to fantastic places to eat, with great recommendations for local food. The days in the mountains were the best, with stays in yurts and tents. We got to meet amazing horses and had a blast galloping! All the horses were gentle and easygoing. The landscapes were also phenomenal, and we even got to swim in a lake! Thank you so much, Sanjar, for this trip. We will remember it for a long time!

5.00The 6-day horse trek to Kel Suu Lake was absolutely incredible. The scenery was of course breathtaking, and the horse riding extraordinary. I always felt safe and well taken care of thanks to the professional driver, horsemen, and our knowledgeable guide, Sanjar. He really made the trip unforgettable by creating a fun, welcoming group atmosphere and making sure everyone felt comfortable and connected. I loved the variety of stays, from guesthouses and yurts to a tent night, which added so much to the adventure. The food was excellent too, with great local recommendations along the way. It was such a unique and memorable experience… I honestly wish it didn’t have to end!!

5.00The 6-day Visit Alay tour to Kol Suu lake went beyond all my expectations. Special thanks to my amazing guide Sanjar, always smiling and knowledgeable about everything, and Milran, the ever friendly driver. Without them the tour would not have been such a great experience and they deserve all the praise in the world. The company as a whole is very professional and the itinerary is extremely well balanced, offering different typed of experienced and stays at hotels, tourist camp, wild camping, yurt camp and a guesthouse. I had the chance to have an incredible weather the entire time which made the scenery even more spectacular than it already is and made me feel that my pictures are even more beautiful than the ones advertised on the website. The highlight of the tour, reserved for the last day, is the breathtaking Kol Suu lake which is by far the most beautiful lake I’ve seen in my life. The terrain along the way offers gorgeous mountain passes and large grasslands perfectly suited to galop with your energetic kyrgyz horse.

5.00The Kel Suu horse trek with Sanjar was a once in a lifetime experience! The landscape was stunning, the horses amazing and everything was super well organized. Visit Alay might be a bit more expensive than other tours but worth every cent. Sanjar was the most caring and fun guide one could wish for. He speaks great English and did everything to make sure everyone in the group had a great experience, managing the group members different levels of experience with horses. Thank you!!

5.00Had an amazing time on the Horse Trek to Kel Suu Lake with Sanjar. He was an excellent guide who made the experience unforgettable by combining passion, knowledge, and adventure. All of our hosts were generous and welcoming, and there were plenty of options to rest, play, or explore every day. The horse riding lessons were great and even the most inexperienced riders were able to complete the trek with no issues. Since I’ve returned I’ve recommended a trek to Kyrgyzstan with Sanjar to all of my friends and I hope to come back soon to see more of this beautiful area!

5.00Amazing scenery and well trained horses. We were made to feel very welcome in Kyrgyzstan by our guide, driver and horseman. The tour was well organised and our guide, Sanjar, is very passionate and went above and beyond to make sure we had a good time. We enjoyed every minute of our trip and would love to come back.
