At the El Pico Palma ranch in Carrera Tupungato, it is a ranch surrounded by the mountains of the majestic Cordón del Plata and the Pre-cordillera, this exclusive corner of the Andes mountain range is known as La Carrera valley. The ranch is located at 2000 meters above sea level, it has belonged to the Palma family for more than 250 years, it is a unique place to rest and today it opens its doors attended by its owners to offer you an unforgettable experience. Includes: Exclusive two-and-a-half-hour horseback rides on top-level Creole horses equipped with excellent saddles and traditional equipment. The horseback riding is enjoyed within the ranch, in an area of total privacy, touring places with extraordinary landscapes and views. Aperitif & Lunch: Upon returning from the activities, visitors are welcomed with an excellent tasting of homemade empanadas paired with high-altitude wines, waiting for a great Creole disco menu and a regional dessert table. After lunch our guests can opt for a moment of relaxation to contemplate the majesty of the mountain, hikes or other activities.

My wife and I spent a wonderful day with Gilda and staff on a beautiful horse ride followed by a sumptuous Argentinian BBQ. She arranged for us to be collected from our private accommodation and driven to her ranch at the base of the mountains. As novice riders she carefully planned horses to suit our ability and we always felt safe and comfortable. The BBQ lunch that followed was most memorable. Once we finished we were again driven back to our accommodation. I can honestly say it was one of the best private tours we have enjoyed in a long time and highly recommend anyone considering such an experience.

My fiance and I had an amazing experience at the ranch. The guides were incredible and so accommodating. I do not eat meat and they cooked me delicious cheese empanadas (the best I tried in Mendoza) and a homemade fish pie. Their homemade wine was to die for and flowing all day. We had some inclement weather but that did not impact our experience and we still had a beautiful day. The horses were very well trained and calm and brought us up and down the mountain safely. Amazing experience!

This experience was everything we wanted and more! Gilda and her family/team were so kind and accommodating, from the horses to the food everything was amazing! Definitely worth the trip for beginners and experienced riders.

This was one of the best day trip experiences and a must do for anyone exploring Mendoza. Gilda was an incredible host and we have had the best horse riding experience followed by an incredible bbq meal. 10/10 day!

The experience was simply spectacular! Every detail, every space and moment were spatial and full of love. The food a truly Argentine experience, delicious and phenomenal. The horses beautiful, healthy and in perfect condition. My wife (who historically had not dared to ride horses) today Thanks to -Morita- was able to enjoy a unique-harmonious experience. Hugo, he took the time to take me to the peak of a very high hill to take pictures and tell me his story in the valley. Now; Gilda and Rufino gave us an out of this world experience, made my birthday; one of the best of my life. The conversation flowed naturally, they shared with all generosity their life and love for these blessed lands. I have no words that honor my gratitude and the joy I feel for the experience. They even... made me a very special gift that I will take back home to use with my Horses. Certainly an experience that becomes a gift of life, a Wonder!

We had the mostly lovely relaxing day on Gilda's ranch! Gilda was extremely kind and accommodating to us. Her ranch is absolutely stunning and the horseback ride through the mountains was so beautiful and serene. After riding we had and asado at her ranch the food was fresh and delicious. Highly recommend this tour it's a must do!

From the moment we booked until the moment we were picked up, the communication was fantastic. The drive to La Estancia was breathtaking, and arriving at the property with its stunning mountain backdrop was unforgettable. We were welcomed with a cup of freshly brewed coffee served on fine china, a beautiful touch. Gilda and Gaucho Don Hugo made us feel truly at home. While the cook prepared delicious empanadas, we enjoyed a few peaceful, relaxing moments before riding the most beautiful horses, Mora and Jerónimo, up the gorgeous mountainside. On our return to the homestead, we were treated to semi-dried tomato bruschetta and beef empanadas, while Don Hugo prepared the asado. What a feast! The food was outstanding, the setting spectacular, and the hospitality warm and genuine. An absolutely unforgettable experience.
Gilda, her husband and her staff were wonderful! Thank you so much for providing us with your delicious Malbec and food!

The empanadas and asado were delicious! The Malbec made in house is also wonderful! The horseride was safe and provided wonderful views.

Some days just etch themselves into your memory, and our visit to El Pico Ranch was one of those. From the moment we arrived, Gilda and Rufino made us feel completely at home—like we were spending time with old friends rather than hosts. We set off on horseback while snowflakes were falling, and by the time we reached the top of the mountain, the sun broke through to reveal the most stunning views of the Andes I’ve ever seen. The scenery was enough to stop you in your tracks, and the horses were calm, sure-footed, and a joy to ride. Afterward, we gathered around for a traditional Argentine asado, which was every bit as unforgettable as the ride itself. The meats were cooked over an open fire to perfection (Señor Guapo could honestly give any top chef a run for their money), and Gilda poured her Malbec with the kind of generosity and heart that turned it into the best “tasting” we had in Mendoza. Between the food, the wine, and the laughter-filled conversation, it felt less like an excursion and more like sharing a meal with friends in the most beautiful setting imaginable. If you’re looking for something truly authentic and memorable in Mendoza, this is an experience not to miss.
