  Highest of recommendations to Ishestar! We’ve only ever had great experiences with them. The horses are beautiful & well cared for. The stable & grounds are immaculate & the staff friendly & helpful. I felt safe having my 4yo do a paddock ride (she loved it!) & my non-riding husband & son went off on a longer adventure, which was a trip highlight. This is worth every penny!

  We had a great experience at the Ishestar riding tour. When we arrived, we were greeted by the friendly receptionist, had a nice coffee (or hot chocolate for the kids). We watch a brief safety video and met our very helpful guides who accompanied us on the ride. The weather was windy with a chance or rain, so the guides made sure we were prepared for the elements. They matched us with horses based on our riding experience and then had a great ride through the lava fields along a nice riding trail. Once the sun came up we had great views of the mountains in the distant. The staff took pictures (or videos) of each of the riders on their horse. I would highly recommend Ishestar Horse Riding Tours, my family and I had a great experience .

  Drove straight from the airport to Ishestar for a winter ride through the lava field, had a fantastic time! Excellent, welcoming atmosphere with a team who clearly cares a great deal for the horses. I enjoyed it so much I visited again in my way back to KEF. The horses are lovely, and you will have fun regardless of your previous experience. Looking forward to visiting again for a longer trip in the warmer months.

  I really enjoyed this experience , my horse galloped twice and it was exactly what I was looking for , although we were only meant to go at a trot hehe , really enjoyed the tour highly recommend it and yes you can choose to just have the horse walk too if you want a more slow and chilled experience

  The experience was very nice, the horses look well taken care of, and meek, the whole experience was really pleasurable from the start , when they arrive they offer you something hot to drink, before the ride they take precautionary measures and we passed helmets tailored and if you needed boots or something more coat also passed it to you, the walk was very nice to walk through a very old lava field and with some vegetation.

  Horses great, riding great, scenery wonderful, pre experience communication wonderful. Guides expectations of riders ability after a 10 min brief video was laughable. Since English was not their first language when something went wrong our guide would yell and belittle the guests. A guest was actually thrown from his horse and she blamed the rider. I would not recommend for families or young riders. That is my opinion and experience.

  I had booked an hour ride with waffles at the end as a gift for my partner. She was really happy, as was I. It's a great experience for those who aren't experienced riders. Our horses were picked for us according to our experience and staff was spot on with the choice of horses. In general, the staff was very friendly and attentive. The waffles were delicious as well. Plus, they have really cute cats who want to be cuddled.

  We loved the gentle Icelandic horses and the scenery. The information shared regarding safety and handling was very helpful. Wonderful for beginners and experienced riders with these Icelandic horses and their guides.

  I can't rave about this business enough. My family and I feel this experience was truly the highlight of our Iceland trip. The stables are easy to get to from Reykjavik by car, they are well-kept and the staff genuinely enjoys working there. The joy of being around the horses was palpable. Our guide was knowledgeable and professional, handling our family's mixed bag of riding experience capably and smoothly. The landscape on the ride was breathtaking, the horses were well behaved and paired with the right riders. We honestly feel we made friends for life here during our short stay, and plan to return every time we visit Iceland.
