There are many places where you may fly by a hot air balloon, but a flight in the Loire valley / France is one of the top 10 things to do in this beautiful country. You will overfly at least one of the most beautiful castles of France: Amboise, Chenonceau, Chinon, Chaumont sur Loire… All these castles are inseparable from the history of France and its kings. Hot air balloon flights are organised every morning and evening, if weather permits, from March to October. Balloon tours usually start in early mornings (at about 6:00 to 9:00 am) and evenings (5:00 - 8:00 pm.). A balloon flight lasts for about 1 hour, but the entire process takes about 3-4 hours. After a flight a small degustation of local products (wine, cheese, sweets) will be offered, then you will be "baptized" by a deep ballooning tradition, you will be granted baptizing names and titles, also the first flight certificates. Then our pilot will bring you back by a 4x4 car to the meeting or take-off site.

Our hot air balloon ride was nothing short of incredible. From start to finish, the staff made the entire experience smooth, enjoyable, and safe. They were welcoming, well-organized, and incredibly informative—taking the time to explain the process, safety precautions, and what to expect during the flight. Our pilot was clearly very experienced and well-trained, which made all the difference. From lift-off to landing, everything felt calm and controlled. We never once felt uneasy—in fact, the ride was so peaceful it was easy to forget how high up we were! Floating silently over the landscape while the sun lit up the horizon was a magical experience. The views were breathtaking and the overall atmosphere was relaxing and awe-inspiring.

We had a great experience! The company running this is a great group of people. They drove us to a different spot to takeoff based on the wind to make sure we would fly over the Chateau de Chenonceau. The men of each group all helped with the set up and take down of the balloon which was a cool process to see. The hot air balloon take off and landing were incredibly smooth, we were very impressed by the pilot. After the flight we shared a charcuterie meal in the field with the group which was lovely. Definitely a must do.
