  The Catamaran Day Trip to Icacos Island was overall a very nice excursion. The water was absolutely beautiful and crystal clear, perfect for swimming and enjoying the scenery. The boat ride itself was fun and lively, making the experience feel like a true Caribbean getaway. However, I do think there are a few areas that could be improved. The beach had a lot of algae on the sand, which made it less enjoyable for relaxing—cleaning this up would make a big difference for visitors. The lunch provided was decent but could have been more flavorful, especially for such a beautiful tropical setting. Another downside was that the trip was overbooked and felt very crowded, which took away from the relaxing island atmosphere. As a solo traveler, I noticed the staff were just okay—friendly enough, but they didn’t really interact much until the end of the trip. A bit more engagement would have made the experience feel more welcoming. Despite those points, the day was still memorable, and I appreciated the chance to explore Icacos. With a bit more attention to details, this could easily be a 5-star experience.

  Buckle in - this is a long, frustrating, disappointing story. Me and three of my friends were so incredibly excited to take the catamaran snorkeling tour from Fajardo to Icacos. It was our last day in Puerto Rico and we had saved the best excursion for last! The booking page and the subsequent confirmation email told us that the boat leaves at 8:30, so we planned to get to Fajardo at 8:10, with plenty of time to check in and get onto the boat. We got a phone call from I assume the check-in lady asking where we were at around 8:05, saying that we were apparently supposed to be there at 7:30, and that they were going to leave without us if we weren’t there by 8:15. We were shocked, completely unaware, and had never seen anything stating that we had to get to the docks by 7:30. We had also hit some traffic on the hour drive from San Juan and told her that we were going to be there in 10 minutes, if they could just please wait for us as we were going to be arriving right at 8:15. She rudely told us that they would not wait even a couple minutes for us. We rushed to the docks, and by the time we parked and ran up to the check-in desk it was 8:16 or 8:17. There was no one at the check-in desk and we stood there waiting for a couple minutes until finally a woman approached us. When we told her that we needed to check in for the catamaran tour that leaves at 8:30, she rudely told us that the the bus had left without us. We said “what bus?!” And were for the first time told that apparently a bus leaves from the check-in area to bring guests to the boat. We were incredibly upset and frustrated that this company refused to wait just one or two minutes for guests who have paid $500 for this half-day excursion and who were not given any information about when to arrive for said excursion. We tried asking if we could drive to the boat, if the bus could come back, if we could be taken or walked to the boat, anything - and we were denied each time. We asked about why there was no communication and/or information given regarding when guests should arrive, that there’s a bus to transport guests, that there’s such a ridiculously strict arrival policy, etc etc. We were simply told, again quite rudely, by the check-in lady that we were apparently told about these things when we in fact were not. We were denied a refund multiple times for the $500 that we spent on an excursion that we did not get to enjoy. Frustrated, disappointed, and let down, with our day freshly ruined - we sadly wandered down to some nearby docks where a local captain started to chat with us. When we told him our predicament, he kindly offered to help us out by calling the parent company - Traveler, I believe - and asking if he could take us to the catamaran with his little speedboat. We were told by the person over the phone, I believe her name was Beatrice, no. The captain then asked if he could transport us to the island of Icacos itself, where we could then join the snorkeling and lunch on the catamaran that we paid for. We were again denied and told no, and this time the excuse was that there wasn’t enough space for us - which made absolutely ZERO sense when we had paid $500 to guarantee four spots on this catamaran and for the snorkeling, lunch, and beach activities provided. At this point we were angry at being lied to and we started to feel like we had been scammed, especially since they have still refused to refund us. This company, with their incredibly poor communication skills and their refusal to be even slightly flexible with their paying guests, successfully ruined our last day in Puerto Rico. I do not recommend booking any excursions through this company, they will not work with you and they were steal your money.

  Wow wow wow!!!! This tour is INCREDIBLE. The best tour you will book on your vacation- (trust me I booked two others) the crew is so much fun & attentive! Kelvin, Siri and Capitan Benji are wonderful!! Their talent is unmatched. The beach is absolutely beautiful! Unlike any other beach you will ever see here in the US!!!! The lunch was delicious, nothing better than a delicious sandwhich sandwich plus pasta salads. The complimentary sodas/water/ cocktails are perfect!!! This tour was 1,000/10!!!!!! Don’t think twice, if you want to see the most beautiful playa with the best crew, BOOK THIS TOUR!!!!!

  It was great I met so many people so if you are thinking of going solo do it! Definitely get a lot of rest the day before! Snorkeling was the best I had the best crew I sailed out with the crew of The Traveler they were all so amazing definitely 10/10 going again!

  Great experience! Our crew, Benji, Kelvin, and Siri, were so fun and very accommodating for our 4 year old! Capt Benji even came over to me to replace my pina coladas after I dropped them both getting off the boat. I acid was absolutely breathtaking too!

  My friends and I booked this tour super last minute but it was worth it ! This was our first time in Puerto Rico so we were excited to visit Icacos. The boat ride itself to Icacos was short so we arrived pretty quickly and got to spend alot of time on the beach, enjoyed delicious rum drinks, soft drinks and a yummy build your sandwich station served with a side of pasta followed by fresh fruit. The crew was awesome, very attentive to their guests and our safety. I appreciated their clear instructions on safety rules. After spending some time on the beautiful Icacos beach, we headed towards some reefs to snorkel, where we surprisingly spent a good amount of time to explore. We got see so many fish! I would 100% recommend you to take this trip! I would book again. Thank you to the crew for a memorable experience!

  THE BEST PEOPLE YOU WILL MEET they made the experience worth every penny. Everyone is super nice and the drinks are good too. The water feels amazing as well as the food. Everything was super fresh.
