  Good half-day tour. Excellent cultural immersion into traditional Vietnamese craftsmanship. Great opportunities to take photos as well as an interactive portion to make hats.

  Nick was a very friendly and funny tour guide who elevated the experience of this tour. We were also back at a good time and able to be dropped off at the Hanoi train street to watch the attraction.

  The day unfolded in a very natural way, moving through incense, conical hat, and lacquer villages without feeling staged or crowded. There was time to watch artisans work, ask questions, and take things in at your own pace. Tom guided the experience lightly, offering insight when needed and giving space when it mattered, which made the tour feel real, relaxed, and refreshingly genuine. Great thanks to Tom, our young guide, and Gerry, our great driver!!!

  This tour felt less like following an itinerary and more like being invited into real village life. We watched people quietly at work in incense, conical hat, and lacquer villages, learned by observing rather than being rushed, and even got involved hands-on. Tom didn’t over-explain or perform — he stepped in at the right moments with clear context and let the places speak for themselves.   We were accompanied to the incense making factory, hat village and golden lotus silk shop were Nadia explained everything to us - the process, history and how they want it to preserve and pass the tradition to the younger generations.
