Becki and Shawn made our 8-day tour a magical experience. They are highly experienced guides who think of every detail and personalize each tour. We really felt that we saw Japan as though we were locals. We had so many experiences that we wouldn't have found ourselves or had access to without their insider info and knowledge, such as delicious restaurants, the most beautiful views, less-crowded times to visit sites, and hard-to-get tickets to events. Bonus: riding Japan's amazing train system is so much fun. Although we were originally tempted to plan this vacation ourselves, we are so glad that we happened to find Japanandmore. Becki and Shawn took all the planning pressure off of us so that we could really enjoy our time in this beautiful country. Plus, they are a pleasure to travel with. Highly recommended!

We had an absolutely incredible time in Japan with Becki and Shawn! Everything was perfectly organized—truly flawless. I honestly can’t imagine how the experience could have been any better. Despite having a limited amount of time, we were able to see all the major attractions and learn so much about the country. Becki and Shawn were a joy to travel with. Not only did they guide us through Japan’s iconic sights, but they also gave us a genuine taste of its culture and cuisine. Our time together—touring, sharing meals, and enjoying the experiences—felt like we were traveling with close friends or family. After the tour, we stayed an additional four days in Tokyo on our own, using the personalized itinerary Becki and Shawn had created for us. It made exploring the city seamless, and we were able to check everything off our list while having a fantastic time. This was, without a doubt, one of the best vacations we’ve ever had—thanks entirely to Becki and Shawn!

If you want to experience a personalized adventure with two of the nicest people in all of Japan, then Becki and Shawn of “JAPAN and more” is the answer! I took my daughter there as part of a long delayed high school graduation trip and we simply loved the tour. In a country where the language, customs, and logistics are as different as anything you will find in the States, Becki and Shawn take the guesswork out of your stay. From the time they meet you at the airport (yes, they do that!) to the day when they make sure you get back to the same airport (yes, they do that too!), it is a fantastic experience. Both are fluent in Japanese and can quickly explain anything and everything you want to know about any subject in Japan. You are immersed in the transportation that people in Japan use everyday (subway, trains, bullet trains) which in and of itself would be enough to challenge even the most seasoned traveler. Yet they are there, one in front, one in back, to make sure you get on and off every mode or transport we used. The bullet train rolls along at the speed of light and the train to Takayama is a two-hour leisurely ride through the Japanese Alps (we got to do both). The real treasure is the obvious love they have for the Japanese people and culture. It is apparent in everything they do and the things they show you. They know the history, cuisine, and “informal” rules in Japan (where to sit, how to speak, even how to ride an escalator) and share their wisdom often. The dinners and lunches they provide as part of the tour expose you to the various types of food the Japanese eat regularly but they also give you ample opportunity to explore the food scene on your own (myself I became a fan of those crazy egg salad sandwiches in the convenience stores!). The tours are tailored based on how long you will be there and where you want to go (we saw Sumo wrestling, had dinner with a real Geisha, saw so many shrines, and on and on it went). Do plan on walking a bunch – but everyone in Japan walks. They are a perfect duo for anyone who is anxious about the challenges Japan may present (which we were) because they make sure you are ready to “come to Japan” though education, responsive engagement (never had an email unanswered) and top notch friendliness. All the hotels were great in central locations…you don’t even have to check in – Becki just hands you the keys! Finally, when you do go home, you’ll feel like you’ve been visiting old friends and you’ll be sad to leave Shawn and Becki behind. Like I said, Look. No. Further.

ABOVE AND BEYOND our expectations!! In late September my husband (his dream trip), son (his high school graduation gift) and I took an 8-day tour with a small group with Becki and Shawn. We had a blast as we toured multiple cities across Japan. They really accomplished some of our wish list items we wanted to see or do. From history of cities/architecture, Japanese cuisine, and seeing the heart of cities to countryside mountain views. They pour their hearts and souls into these trips. You can tell by their story telling to how they pick the seats on the train how they are passionate about the Japanese culture. We are so thankful to have met and spent time with them. We fell in love with Japan and already planning another trip back. Hoping to take another tour with Becki and Shawn!

My 2 friends and I went on the beginners Spring Tour 2019 for our first trip to Japan. We loved it and can't wait to go back! Becky and Shawn are awesome. They were so down to earth, helpful and very knowledgeable. I also really liked that the tour group is small. It allows you to get to know your fellow group members and ensures personal attention from your guides. We saw so many large tour groups at tour sites and they looked a little chaotic, it made me happy we chose a small group. The accommodations were always clean and comfortable and located perfectly. Food was amazing!!! If you are willing to try new things you can have an amazing gourmet experience. The events and locations that Becky and Shawn chose were top notch and we got to experience all different modes of transportation while there.
