• Visit wildlife sanctuary islands to encounter native bush and rare bird species
• Savour morning tea, a packed delicious picnic lunch, and a refreshing cold drink on the return sail
• The catamaran pulls right up to the beach where you can step on and off from the shore for your island adventures!

CRUISE SHIP CUSTOMERS be advised that 1.5 - 2 hours either side of cruise ship anchor/departure is recommended to allow reasonable time to get to and from our cruise. We do not make allowances for a change in ship schedule or late arrivals. Normal terms and conditions apply.
A maximum of 16-20 people on board
A moderate amount of walking is involved if you choose to do the island walks, please wear appropriate footwear
Due to uneven surfaces, and a moving boat, this tour is not recommended for those with walking disabilities or unstable in the legs
Operates in most weather conditions, please dress appropriately, and be prepared for a day in the great outdoors
Refunds will not be issued if tour/activity is missed due to late or non-arrival of cruise ship
Snorkel participants must be able to swim competently in open water for a distance of 200m
Children must be accompanied by an adult
Vegetarian option is available, please advise at time of booking if required
Not recommended for people with poor mobility

5.00We had a great time sailing to and from Mokutoa Island. We did some snorkeling and saw a Leatherjacket fish. On shore, we caught sight of a Kakariki a rare New Zealand parakeet. On the sail back to Paihia, we got a glimpse of a Blue Penguin and a few Gannets. The captain and crew were friendly, competent and entertaining. A wonderful day in the Bay of Islands.

5.00Bring clothes you can get wet and clothes to keep you dry. You are given the opportunity to snorkel, paddle board, hike, or just enjoy the day on the beach. I chose to hike and paddleboard, had a blast doing both.

5.00Amazing trip. From the comfy bean bag seating, excellent service, knowledgeable and informative crew…to the delicious snacks and picnic lunch. Picture perfect sailing weather….amazing views and wildlife sightings…including an up close, and personal visit from a pod of bottle nose dolphins. 🐬 Definitely 💯 worth every penny❣️

5.00Highly recommend this sailing excursion! We were excited to explore the Bay of Islands, and this trip exceeded our expectations. Luke and his crew were knowledgeable, professional, and a lot of fun. We enjoyed learning how to sail, and Luke took the time to answer our questions and even let us help sail the catamaran. The boat was spotless and easy to get around, and we loved the clean, comfortable bean bag chairs scattered around the deck—they were definitely a highlight for us. We also had a great time exploring the island and paddleboarding. It was an unforgettable experience, and we’d absolutely do it again. Thanks for a fantastic day!

5.00Travelled with Spouse and friends Very helpful boarding and disembarking. The catamaran kept boat steady. The sails provide a quiet period with just the sound of water and occasional birds. Sufficient time at the beach for swimmers and snorkeling, and for a short walk up the side of the island. Lunch was fine. Captain was very informative about the Bay of Islands and birds, though didn’t see many. Did see a pair of small penguins swimming.

5.00A Wonderful day 6 hr round trip to see & absorb so much beautiful Bay Of Island scenery with wonderful/fun host Luke (& the lovely Bromley lady!), with lovely stop for picnic lunch/swim/walk in a secluded bay too. When we returned, even had some time to visit the nearby historic WaitangiTreaty site before it closed - before driving by Car back to Auckland.

5.00What an incredible day! Luke and the team at Barefoot Sailing Adventures were absolutely awesome — super friendly, professional, and made everyone feel welcome from the moment we stepped aboard. The yacht was beautiful and well-maintained, the lunch was fresh and delicious, and the views around the Bay of Islands were simply stunning. A truly relaxing and memorable experience on the water. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a perfect day out in paradise!
