We leave behind the ‘Capital of the Highlands’, for a full-day small-group adventure to the magical Isle of Skye. We drive along the world-famous Loch Ness, home of the elusive monster, and onwards through the mountains towards the west coast. Majestic mountains give way to vast sea lochs, once used by Vikings as an access route to our lands. We stop at the romantic Eilean Donan Castle with time for you to explore inside (optional, pay locally).
After crossing the Skye Bridge, learn about the island’s myths and legends, as well as the true tales of rival clans and a fugitive prince. Enjoy lunch in the main town of Portee and visit the colourful harbor. Explore the Isle of Skye’s stunning coastline, and marvel at the Old Man of Storr, Quiraing, and Kilt Rock. Take in the last of Skye’s otherworldly landscape as we drive through the Highlands back to Inverness.

It is recommended to book transport to the departure point in advance. Please also allow extra time to get to the departure point for check-in. We advise you arrive at least 15 minutes before the tour departure to allow time to check-in for the tour. Unfortunately, we are unable to hold the bus or refund for any late arrivals.
Return times are approximate and subject to road conditions and weather. Please ensure you allocate sufficient time for any onward travel plans, allowing at least 3 hours after the scheduled return time for connections or activities.
Children under 5 years old, including infants who do not require a seat, are not permitted to travel. We are unable to accommodate any child under the age of 5.
Eilean Donan Castle can be subject to closures for private events. If so, additional time will be allocated elsewhere and the castle will be a photo stop.

Due to vehicle availability, there may be instances where this tour runs on a bigger bus.

5.00It is a long day so be prepared for many stops. We had a wonderful guide, Harrison. We had great weather and were able to see some spectacular scenery.

5.00It is a long day but worth it. Our guide, and driver Emma was excellent and very knowledgeable. AND a very skilled driver. We saw all the sights promised and felt safe even on the one way tracks. I was also proud of the rest of the people on the 16 person bus. Everyone was in good humor all day and returning to the bus on time or early after every stop. In fact we saw a few of our fellow travelers at the train station two days later and there were smiles all around. In August with all the traffic a small group bus tour was the best way to go with no worries about the traffic or parking. A take away lunch worked best and an hour is ample time in Portree. Ever since I learned the Skye Boat Song, I knew I had to go there and was not disappointed.

5.00A very good day trip, especially if you don't have much time or you aren't hiring a car. The locations we visited were gorgeous (as expected), and I feel the amount of time spent at each place was enough. It would have been nice to spend a bit longer in Portree, but I'm mindful we had a distance to travel and other places to see. If you want to explore the town shops, I recommend getting a takeaway lunch option, rather than a sit-down lunch. The only negative was sometimes the driver would forget to turn the air conditioning back on in the rear of the vehicle, and it could get quite stuffy, but he was always willing to turn it on when asked.

4.00It was good experience, comfortable bus, pleasant driver- guide. For people who have never seen Scotland, it would be awesome. Since I saw other parts of Scotland, e.g. Loch Lomond, Loch Fyne, stunning coastline of Ayrshire, I think that Isle of Skye is overrated. I am impressed with marketing exercise that made Isle of Skye so famous!
