This is a lovely day long private tour taking you from Inverness to the Isle of Skye and visiting quite a number of the main attractions and on the way there we stop at Eilean Donan Castle.
What makes this tour unique is that the customer can decide to change things if they wish by deleting any stops and adding other stops in ( within reason ).

Eilean Donan Castle
Eilean Donan Castle is strategically placed where 3 sea lochs meet and is one of the most photographed castles in the world and one of the most visited attractions in the Highlands. We stop here for a photo opportunity and rest room break for 30 minutes.
Skye Bridge
We cross over the Skye Bridge where on a clear day you get a magnificient view of the Cuillin mountains.

5.00What a terrific day! Prior to the trip, Lawrence worked with me on an itinerary that fit the day and let us see everything we wanted to see. Billy was our driver and he truly made the experience unique, in depth, and so much more fun. He regaled us with tales of Scottish clans along the way to Skye and answered our many questions about Jacobites, tartans, present day relationships with the English and Irish, and the outer Hebrides. We learned so much, and had a truly phenomenal time. It was a rainy misty day in the beginning, but cleared up halfway through the day. Both were beautiful on Skye. Couple administrative notes- We had a mixed age group, and Billy was great at explaining how the terrain might be so we could determine if we could manage it. He also was well prepared with the closest bathroom stop at any point throughout the itinerary in case the smaller bladders needed it. And while we had brought snacks, he also had drinks and snacks available for us. We tried our first Irn Bru thanks to him! We went in mid/late May, which I believe was a great time to go. There were some tourists, but not TOO many. The Scottish bluebells were in bloom, and they make a lovely blue-purple groundcover as you pass by the forests. Again, you might get rain, but it adds to the mystique and beauty of Skye. :)

5.00Never in my life have I had such an absolutely amazing experience with a tour guide. Billy went above and beyond telling us so many stories and histories of Scotland, he went out of his way to get us to so many different places, took the best routes so we could see the best views, had the boot full of snacks and drinks for us and even helped us out with showing us the best places to go in the city where we were staying on the way back to the hotel. Ask for Billy- you will not be disappointed! (P.S. say yes to the whiskey)

5.00Fantastic service from start to finish. Billy was incredibly kind, professional and made us feel comfortable the entire time. He arrived on time, drove safely, and went above and beyond to make the experience enjoyable. The car was spotless and very comfortable as well. Highly recommended!

5.00This was an absolutely fantastic tour! Billy was an amazing tour guide. He’s obviously very knowledgeable, and shared interesting historical insights about the places we visited. We spent three days with Billy, and enjoyed every bit of our time with him. I would highly recommend this tour for anyone wanting to visit the Isle of Skye! 5.00This tour was one of the best days of our trip. We wanted to take Billy with us when we were finished; he was delightful and we wanted to tour all of Scotland with him at the lead. He was gracious, informative, accommodating, answered all of our questions and shared magnificent stories of Skye. 5.00My sister and I had a private tour with Billy to see the Isle of Skye and had the absolute best time! He was so friendly, knowledgeable, reliable, and made our trip so worthwhile. Not only did he go above and beyond to accommodate our tour, he also offered additional taxi services the following day to help us and our Nonna get around Inverness. This was such a highlight of our trip! I highly recommend booking with him. Thanks Billy for giving us a wonderful experience that we will never forget!

5.00Billy was an absolutely fantastic guide of Skye. He was very knowledgeable about the history and the clans, and had a sense of humor that was just so fun. He was willing to fit in as much as we possibly could into our itinerary without any issue. We felt so comfortable the whole time. We saw everything we wanted to and he was always right there waiting with a warm car. He took lots of pictures for us and they turned out great! He even dipped his face in Sligachan with us! We had such a lovely day with him and we’d do it again in a heartbeat!

5.00We highly recommend Higlander Private Tours. We had a full day in September last year with Lawrence MacLean, where he guided us through the west of Scotland in the best possible way and where we also visited the Isle of Skye. We got a lot of information about Scotland, both historical and contemporary, as well as a lot of knowledge about the local conditions. It was a lovely day in the west of Scotland.

5.00We took a house overlooking Loch Ness for a special family weekend. Billy arranged a wonderful tour to the Isle of Skye. He kept us entertained all day with his knowledge of Scottish history and nothing was too much trouble. On the day we left Inverness he took us to the Singleton Glen of Ord whisky distillery and arranged lunch all before getting us to the airport in perfect time. Billy smiled for the entire trip, fully engaged with the whole family and made sure we had a great time. Top man!

5.00Lawrence took us on a multi day tour of the Highlands, the Isle of Skye and Speyside. He worked with us to create a great tour combining natural beauty, history and….. scotch!! An expert driver and a gentleman who proudly shared his vast knowledge of his country.
