Hippodrome
The Hippodrome of Constantinople, now known as Sultanahmet Square in Istanbul, was an ancient chariot racing stadium and a major social center of the Byzantine Empire. Built by Roman Emperor Septimius Severus in the early 3rd century and later expanded by Emperor Constantine I, it could hold tens of thousands of spectators. Though much of the original structure is no longer visible, several historical monuments remain: - **The Obelisk of Theodosius**: A 3,500-year-old Egyptian obelisk brought to Constantinople by Emperor Theodosius I. - **The Serpent Column**: Originally from Delphi, Greece, this bronze column commemorates a Greek victory over the Persians. - **The Walled Obelisk**: A less ornate stone obelisk built during the reign of Constantine VII. The Hippodrome was not only a place for races but also for political events and gatherings, making it a key hub in Byzantine social and political life.
Blue Mosque
The Blue Mosque, also known as the Sultan Ahmed Mosque, is one of Istanbul's most famous landmarks and a prime example of classical Ottoman architecture. It was built between 1609 and 1616 during the reign of Sultan Ahmed I, The mosque is located near Hagia Sophia, creating a stunning architectural contrast between the two iconic structures. The mosque gets its nickname "Blue Mosque" from the more than 20,000 handmade İznik ceramic tiles that adorn its interior walls, many of which feature blue hues. These tiles, along with the mosque's interior lighting from over 200 stained glass windows, create a serene and luminous atmosphere. It is also a major tourist attraction, drawing visitors from around the world who come to admire its stunning architecture, intricate tile work, and historical significance. The mosque's proximity to other historic sites like Hagia Sophia and the Topkapi Palace makes it a central part of Istanbul's cultural and historical landscape.

5.00Absolutely amazing experience! Everything was perfectly organized and we got to see so many incredible places in one day. A huge shoutout to our guide Kemal, who was fantastic. He was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and made the history of Istanbul come alive with his stories and explanations. You could really feel his passion for the city, and he made the entire tour fun and engaging for everyone. If you’re visiting Istanbul, I highly recommend this tour, especially if Kemal is your guide. 5 stars all the way!

5.00We cannot recommend Sabit highly enough. He made the tour experience better than we ever could have imagined. He was exceedingly knowledgeable and was able to answer any question we threw at him. With his help, we were able to bypass the ticketing lines for Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and Basilica Cistern, saving so much time. He was young, energetic, and genuinely pleasant to be with for 8 hours. You can feel his passion for Istanbul. The tour destinations themselves were very close to each other and worth every penny. There was so much history and hidden details within in each place, that we would not recommend going without a knowledgeable guide like Sabit.

5.00The visit is perfect, in a small group of 5 people, because you see all the emblematic sites in one day. Our guide Kemal took us to some places off schedule as it was to see the making of carpets, something very typical in Turkey. I recommend this excursion yes or yes, a 10!!

5.00We did a private tour with Sabit. He was very professional, knowledgeable and has a good sense of humor. Also a good photographer. He took us to all the places that was mentioned on the tour, explain in details the importance of each site. But the bonus was that he took us to some very authentic places to buy ceramics and rugs. It was nice to see the local art work without the pressure from the merchants. I would highly recommend Sabit if you’re booking this tour.

5.00Today was truly one of the highlights of our Turkey trip, all thanks to Kemal. He spent the entire day with me and my mom, and from start to finish he was incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and professional. Kemal thoughtfully planned our day and also took us to beautiful rooftop restaurants for lunch (with stunning views perfect for photos!), and guided us through the Grand Bazaar shopping experience with care and insight. We never felt rushed, and he made sure we were comfortable the entire time. 5.00After our conference preparations, our group had a wonderful visit to the Hippodrome, Blue Mosque, Basilica Cistern, Topkapi Palace, Hagia Sophia, and the Grand Bazaar. Our guide, Kemal, expertly explained the history behind each place we visited. Lunch was superb at Seven Hills which had a spectacular view of Istanbul. Highly recommended, particularly, if you do not have a lot of time in Istanbul.
