Soesokkak Estuary

Soesokkak, located in Hahyo-dong, Seogwipo-si, Jeju Island, was originally named Soedun because it was shaped like a cow lying down, but it was named ‘Soesokkak’ because the fresh water and seawater flowing through Hyodoncheon meet to create a deep puddle. It contains the meaning of iron being a cow, a cow being a puddle, and a sharpened end. Soeso is a valley-like valley formed when lava flows and solidifies, creating a terrain as interesting and unique as its name suggests. Soesokkak is one of the hidden scenic spots in Seogwipo Chilsimni, and the deep water, oddly shaped rocks made of lava, and pine forests harmonize to create beautiful scenery. Hahyo-dong, where Soesokkak is located, is located on the southern foot of Hallasan Mountain and is famous as a major producer of citrus fruits, so the fragrant smell of citrus fruits can be found throughout the village. Jeju Island

‘Eong’ means hill in the Jeju Island dialect. Namwon Keuneong is a hill with its mouth wide open, like a large rock swallowing the sea, so it is named so. The top of the cliff is flat and covered with soft grass. When you look at the two natural caves facing the sea, where strangely shaped rock cliffs of 30m in height and 200m in length embrace the waves that have been rolling in continuously for a long time, you can feel the emotion of unspoilt nature, a different world as if you have left the world. There is a 2km walking path along the coastal cliff, an observatory, a simple lounge, basic physical training facilities, and restrooms. It is famous as a fishing spot on the seashore, a quiet resting place, and a date course for couples.

Well if there is a heat alert you can not climb a mount for 90 min at 16:00 and the driver very good photographer and friendly but since 8:30 did not understand that we wanted to do another route, that by mistake we had not selected well, we could change it so we were told and we went alone but there was no way we had to finish two hours early ... but it is well paid a money go

Mr Hong is such a wonderful private guide. From the very moment that we met up at the cruise terminal, we could feel his positivity and friendliness. He is a local of Jeju, hence very knowledgeable about various attractions. To show his dedication, he has actually learnt English language through YouTube, and we communicated without any problem at all. Highly recommend him to anyone. Mr Hong was the best tour guide we’ve ever had in our frequent travels to Asia. Attentive, informative and super warm…Mr Hong took us all over the island, experiencing natural wonders across Jeju. The lunch recommendations could not have been better. If you are going to Jeju we highly recommend Mr Hong! We did two full day tours with him and were absolutely delighted.

Mr Hong is very nice and cheerful. He is very patient and explains us the history of the places during the trip. He is always with us and he helps us to take beautiful photos. His car is very clean, comfortable and big. I highly recommend him to everyone coming to Jeju!

We would give Mr. Hong 10 stars! He is the best. Book him now if you can! We are so lucky to have had him be our guide and driver for our trip. We is warm and genuine and has good energy; he is punctual and your worries about travel and itinerary disappear with him. He will give you the low down on what is authentic and make suggestions for places to visit and to eat at if you need them. The restaurants he suggested were fresh and delicious. We invited him to eat with us and normally I’m not that person- I’m just private and introverted (so usually it makes me uncomfortable) but he was, in fact, like an old friend or brother at the table- it was lovely to have him. He took us from our accommodation to Jeju city (and waited while we took a long time at Olive Young) to our second airbnb. He came with us to a grocery store to make sure we navigated easily and got everything we needed. He took us to Udo and followed our scooters (and we were driving slowly) and would drive ahead little by little so he could get photos of us. We have the best pictures. He also speaks English (one of the few who do). He took such great care of us. His prices are comparable to others and he is totally worth it. We had one other driver to compare him to (booked prior to knowing him)- and he was a dud in comparison to Mr. Hong. Mr. Hong will be our go to guy for all future trips to Jeju. Good luck booking him when I’m there!

Mr Hong made our trip to Jeju easy and warm. His 7 seater is immaculate and comfortable and his driving is steady. What sets Mr Hong apart from other jumbo taxis, is that he is so thoroughly helpful and shares such generosity of spirit in acting as a tour guide and providing transport. He is a dedicated triathlete and has completed all of the ole trails in Jeju, so he knows and loves the island deeply. Whether we wanted to do something touristy fun or go somewhere off the beaten track, Mr Hong understood what we wanted and took us there. When we went to Udo, he lined up with us to make sure we got the right ferry tickets and also went with us on the ferry (we paid a little extra to bring his car with us) so that he could Help is organise scooters. He then on the hottest day also followed us while we rode at a non intrusive distance to take photos and also direct us when we needed help. Mr Hong is also just a really cool guy - he has a terrific sense of humour, is very easy to get along with and at the same time, so intuitive and chill about giving space . Highly highly recommend.

When my sister and I arrived in Jeju, we realised how difficult it is to hire a taxi with just 2 big pieces of luggage. Taxi drivers were not helpful, so we ended up with a Jumbo taxi to our hotel. After wasting one day doing not much, we find it challenging with just Google Maps and the language barrier. Through recommendation, we contacted Mr Hong (+82-10-3558-1544, Google. jeju. jumbotaxi4377) for a tour the next day. We were so satisfied with him that we decided to use his service for the next 2 days (including sending us off to the airport). He is very cheerful and funny but very professional. We have a lot of laughter together. We have some special places that we wish to visit, and he happily tried his best to accommodate our wishes. He is not just a driver, he walks some distance with you with the description of the places and he is a great photographer (his hobby) and he knows which area is available or close (affected by weather) that normal tourists might not receive the short notice. We have a very comfortable Jumbo taxi ride at a very reasonable price.
