10:00 am, depart from your hotel in Beijing and embark on an adventure to Jiankou Great Wall.
The Great wall of Jiankou
12:00 pm, arrive at the trailhead and begin your hike, following a dirt trail that leads to the Great Wall. 1:00 pm, reach the Great Wall and take a well-deserved break on a watchtower to soak in the breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. Continue your trek along the rugged and unrestored section of the Great Wall, exploring its ancient architecture and marveling at its grandeur. 2:30 pm, start descending from the Great Wall and follow another dirt trail back down to the base. 3:00 pm, enjoy a delicious post-hike meal at a local farmhouse, where you'll savor traditional Chinese dishes like stir-fried vegetables, chicken, home-style pancake, and rice. This authentic meal will replenish your energy and give you a taste of local flavors. Board the vehicle at 5:00 pm and return to Beijing.

5.00I went on this trip with my family. We had a nice trip and found it really authentic to see an unrestored part of the wall. Our guide Steven was really kind and had planned transportation, the hike, a snack and a dinner at the countryside for us. We will recommend this trip.

5.00Steve is a wonderful tour guide with a lot of knowledge about china and the Great Wall. He is very polite and showed us amazing hidden spots on the wall without any other tourists. The route is for more experienced people who like to walk off the common paths, but is a real lifetime experience. The meal afterward was a great chance to taste local Chinese cuisine. Everyone was so nice and helpful that we would definitely do it again!

5.00My family and I went to Beijing for the weekend and we’re really excited to do this one day of hiking with Steven on a part of the wall called Panlongshan, about 2 hours outside Beijing. Steven came and picked us up in a minivan at our hotel and we drove out there. He is such a friendly person and clearly loves hiking. There was another family also on this trip whose grandparents came on the hike. Steven was very careful to make sure that the pace was comfortable for them, the sign of a thoughtful guide. We got there in the afternoon and hiked for a few hours. Then we stopped at one of the guard towers and had a picnic meal of a local Beijing food that was sort of like a burrito. It was simple and delicious. The kids were having a great time and the views were spectacular. We watched the sun go down. It was one of those moments I felt like I was crossing something big off my bucket list, watching the sun go down on the Great Wall of China. Incredible. One of our best days this year - thank you Steven, highly recommend!

He will definitely take you off the beaten track and adapt to your levels or needs. I've done many trips already with Steven and can't wait for my next one. Don't leave Beijing without a trip to the 'wild Great Wall'.

5.00Steven is a wonderful guide -- I've been hiking with him since I moved to Beijing two years ago. He always finds scenic yet uncrowded paths, so you can enjoy the stunning views without having to fight through masses of other tourists. He's extremely responsive and flexible, always happy to adapt a route to the group's abilities and desires, even on the fly (thanks to his intimate familiarity with pretty much all the mountains around Beijing). Most importantly, though, Steven is the kindest, gentlest person you could ever ask for, so filled with passion for what he does and for sharing it with others. I've recommended so many friends join his hikes, and they've never regretted it.
