Excellent tour! Our guide was wonderful, giving us a 360° view on historical and present Japanese culture situated in Kanazawa. Our guide quickly helped us customize our tour and away we went, learning a great deal about the city and its history. Highly recommend.

We spent a lovely day with Ai in Kanazawa and had a wonderful time despite the full day of rain. We started at the Omicho Market and it was great having a local explain all the different types of food there (and encourage us to step out of our comfort zone to try different things!). We also visited the Kanazawa highlights (samurai district, geisha district, the Kenrokuen Gardens, Kimono Museum, etc) and appreciated Ai's knowledge, excellent communication skills, and flexibility in tailoring the itinerary to meet our interests. 5-star experience!

Sachiko is a fabulous guide. We were a party of six and she was able to meet all of our needs, in addition to making sure we left with a greater appreciation of Kanazawa’s history. She is personable and witty. Would highly recommend requesting her!!!

A well paced and informative tour with coffee and lunch stops. We saw the outside of the castle and then a video of the history followed by coffee in Kenrokuen gardens. We hit the sweet spot with Autumn colours. The udon lunch was really good and quickly served. In the afternoon we had an enjoyable and relaxed calligraphy session with a takeaway of our own work!! Then we visited a modern ceramacist in his workshop. A scientist before he took up ceramics and he clearly gave great thought to the design and process. Finally, we travelled back to the hotel in a gold leaf taxi! Lovely friendly guide who paced the day and didn’t overwhelm us with facts. Thank you

We had a fantastic day with Sachiko. We walked all day around Kanazawa visiting the Samurai district and the Geisha district. Sachiko was able to explain everything so clearly and gave us a real insight into the history of Kanazawa. Sachiko was a pleasure to spend time, answered all our questions and took us for delicious lunch. A very enjoyable tour!

Sachiko was an excellent guide - this was our first full day in Kanazawa. She tailored the tour to compliment what we had planned the next day and was very flexible. We had two booked visits to see master artisans - one a specialist lacquer painter and the other specialising in modern ceramics. Both were excellent visits and spaced out in between with a tour of the Geisha area. Lunch was included, which was light and just the tight thing. A very smooth and enjoyable day - Sachiko’s English and knowledge were extremely good and we would highly recommend her

Had experienced a varied day with a private guided tour by Sachiko Nakai: to be recommended is her great knowledge of the history of Ksnazawa and the link with the arts and crafts. Visiting studios and the artists (dyeing art, lacquer work). Direct contact with the artists who took your time to explain. Visit to a samurai house and Kenruo-en garden with competent guidance. Highly recommended.

Together with ourr guide SACHIKO NAKAI we spent a very interesting day in Kaeazawa. Visiting and meeting the artsans, in their ateliers, we learned a lot about some local artisanal craftmanship (dying, laquer-work), which is unique and special in Japan. Highly recommened. Nozomi organised an Artisans Tour for us. We started our day with a very informative visit to a Samurai house with explanations about rooms in the house, their layout and use and she told us about the garden. She explained what trees were in the garden and why; the reason for the waterfall versus having a fountain and the male/female side of the garden. We then had a wonderful visit to a Master Kimono designer followed by lunch and a visit to a metal inlay business. All day Nozomi was giving us insights into Japanese life, beliefs and culture. It was excellent. Nozomi was fun to be with and we all very much enjoyed her company.

We did the full day Artisans of Kanazawa tour. Our guide, Ms Sachiko Nakai was excellent. She was Informative, relaxed and very good company. As well as the planned itinerary showing lacquer and dyeing, she was flexible enough to accommodate our request to visit the DT Suzuki museum, expert on the social and political history of the city, and on the Samurai. The result was a wonderfully relaxed day. Highly recommended.
