5.00Kanazawa Guided Tour We had the pleasure of spending a full day with Ian on what was a fantastic day, walking the streets & sights of Kanazawa. Ian arrived at our Machiya Villa right on time and then took us everywhere we had hoped to see plus much more. Ian's knowledge of Kanazawa is amazing and there wasn't a question that he could not answer along the way. Ian is a great bloke, extremely knowledgeable and very handy when it came to ordering lunch and taking family photos for us. At the completion of our tour, Ian asked if we would like to go to another Geisha district on the other side of town which was not originally planned...it was amazing! After a fantastic day, Ian even assisted with organizing a taxi back home for us. If you want to see the best of Kanazawa...Ian Walker is your man! The Winiecki family.

5.00We had an excellent day with our guide Nozomi on a tour she had tailored to our interests. We began in the Geisha district, early in the morning so that it wasn’t crowded. We then went to the workshop of one of the few remaining traditional Japanese umbrella makers and she gave us a fascinating demonstration of her craft. Nozomi then took us for a delicious lunch at a place we would never have found ourselves and she arranged vegetarian food. Thence to the workshop of a wood turner for another brilliant demonstration of her skill. Nozomi was a superb guide. Her English is excellent and we learned such a lot from her about Japanese life and culture. It was such a privilege to have this experience. In addition the day ran like clockwork and we never had to wait for a taxi. She also took loads of photos which was very helpful.

5.00Sachiko was our tour guide. She is exceptional in so many ways. In addition to her deep knowledge and passion for Kanazawa, she helped us straighten out our Shinkansen ticket issues. We are truly grateful to have met her. She helped us make our first day at Kanazawa truly memorable.

5.00This was a fantastic tour. Guide Nozomi was obviously an expert in the history and culture of this fascinating city. Her enthusiasm was infectious. She was flexible and happy to customise our tour to reflect our interests and requests, particularly to accommodate some shopping needs. We covered a lot of ground but at a digestible pace. Her perfect colloquial English was a bonus and made the tour more relaxed. Thank you Nozomi!

5.00Our tour with Ian was wonderful. He adapted it to fit the needs of the slower walkers and special dietary needs of one of our group. He was knowledgeable and entertaining. With only one day to tour Kanazawa, we were able to see many lovely historical sites and have fun

5.00Our guide for the morning was Kenzo, who was lovely and a pleasure to spend time with. We covered quite a lot of ground, Samurai & geisha districts, castle and gardens. He was very knowledgeable of the areas and happy to answer questions. We really enjoyed the tour and the experience of meeting a local person.

5.00We had a lovely day with our guide! She was very knowledgeable and did a wonderful job recommending the best sites for us to visit. The pace was perfect for the four in our group (ranging in age from 61 to 75). I highly recommend this tour!
