Kanchanaburi War Cemetery
6:30 AM meet the group at the designated meeting point or a pick-up from your hotel in the city center. Then head directly to Kanchanaburi Province. 10.00 am Explore Kanchanaburi War Cemetery. Chungkai was one of the base camps on the Burma-Siam railway and contained a hospital and church built by Allied prisoners of war. The war cemetery is the original burial ground started by the prisoners themselves, and the burials are mostly of men who died at the hospital. There are now 1,426 Commonwealth and 313 Dutch burials of the Second World War in this cemetery. (Total time included travelling from Bangkok to Kanchanburi)
JEATH War Museum
Visit Jeath war museum, The name JEATH is derived from countries engaged in the WWII death railway construction from 1942 to 1945: Japan, England, America, Australia, Thailand and Holland. And as the name suggests, this small museum displays photographs and illustrations narrating the living condition of prisoners of war (POWs) during that cruel time, some of which were donated by former POWs who survived.

Very interesting program of the day. We enjoyed visiting the Kwai River Bridge, the cave and the train tour. Everything was colorful. However, big downside: our guide, whose name is unknown since he did not show up, gave us very little information as much about the course of the day as about the history of this place. Moreover, he did not stop talking loudly all along the way without addressing us.

Everything was great about this trip. From hotel pick up to drop. Loved the overall planning, places they took us, the food they served, the tour guide, the train trip, the boat ride, the walk in the bridge, etc etc.

Wonderful nostalgic trip - One of my father's favorite WW2 movies is "Bridge on River Kwai" so it meant a lot to me to see the actual places which were mentioned in the film. Our tour guide Oom was very knowledgeable and presented a lot of information on the trip, sometimes even correcting the incorrect Hollywood film information. It was very interesting. Oom was also funny and made us laugh with many jokes along the way. Lunch was OK ( food quality was ok, it was very crowded with other tour groups and a large school group) at the restaurant near Krasae Cave.

A long day but worth it for all you cover. The Kanchanaburi War Cemetery is so well maintained. Very interesting to walk around the Death Railway Museum and see all the photos of the prisoner of war and how poor the condition were and the treatment. The Bridge and train journey were amazing. We stopped at Maha Wang Chang Elephant Camp and fed some elephants, then to finish off Nam Tok Sai Wok Noi Waterfalls. The only disappointment was the description said drinks and snacks along with a welcome drink and water/soft drinks were included. Had we not shopped as a precaution, considering our day began at 5:30am we would not have eaten or drank anything until very late morning.

This is a big day out. Our driver and guide were excellent, making sure we had appropriate toilet stops, bottled water supplied and lunch were all sorted for us

Fun trips out. It is a pity that the guide only told us what was necessary. I thought there could be a little more explanation instead of constantly being on the mobile.

Pick up from hotel was seamless with water available in an air condition car. Our guide Alex, was knowledgeable and his English was very good. He was always smiling and laughing. The trip was quite humbling and reflective but very informative and interesting. There was an issue with the car on our return but it was rectified relatively quickly. We would recommend Alex and this tour but it is 2.5 hours from Bangkok so be prepared for that.

It's a full day trip with a lot of driving on a fairly good highway. The tour guide didn't give any explanations of the sites, what they meant, other than a one-minute talk at the cemetery. She wasn't even with us one most of the drive there or back. The last attraction was not a cave, it was a waterfall in a national park (which was nice, but not the tour I bought).
