Really enjoyed the tour. Deepak is a lovely chap who seems to really enjoy what he does. Never felt rushed. Ate at places I wouldn’t have tried on my own. Come hungry! I can eat a lot and was stuffed by the end of the tour.
Great tour to sample Nepalese foods; Deepak is lovely too!!

We joined Deepak for the tour of various food outlets in the Thamel area of Kathmandu. The tour included a 30 minute rickshaw bicycle ride around the streets too. We sampled so many different Nepalese foods - some a little too spicy for my English taste buds - but it was a good experience to try everything on offer. Deepak gave us lots of information about the food, their origins, etc. we sampled Nepali Masala Milk Tea, Plain Bara, Mixed Thukpa, Vegetarian Samosa, Panipuri, Vegetarian Chatamari, Sugarcane Juice with Lemon, Chicken Steamed Mo:Mo, Khajuri (Thekuwa), and Selroti. My favourite was definitely the Thukpa, followed by the Mo:Mo. It was good to see the sugarcane being pressed to make the juice, which was really tasty with the lemon juice. Deepak was extremely friendly, knowledgeable and happy chap. He has put together a very good walking tour across eight different eateries.

Great introduction to Nepali cuisine. Deepak has curated a well-balanced food tour that combines both street food and typical restaurant meals. He’s very knowledgeable and would be glad to help you out even for non-food topics such as giving you some tips for souvenir hacks. If you’ve done the EBC trek before, don’t worry because Dal Bhat is not included in this tour so you won’t get tired of it :) Overall, such a pleasant experience and would recommend this tour for other foodies out there!

Very good tour, all of the food and drink was good & Deepak took us to restaurants we would probably not have found/gone to with out a local guiding us. He was also very informative about the history of the food and the benefits of it!

This food tour with Deepak was one of the best we’ve ever done. Each stop was welcoming, delicious and as vegetarians we were well catered for. Come starving.. you will be very well fed! Deepak was lovely, warm and friendly and very helpful throughout. Highly recommend.

What a great way to spend an evening in Kathmandu! Wonderful variety of Nepalese food and culture with our knowledgeable guide Deepak. Totally in awe of the street vendors and small restaurant owners and how hard they work, always with a generosity of spirit. Highly recommended. Thanks for looking after me Deepak.

Deepak provided a wonderful foodie tour through the local hidden gems in Thamel. Our small group was lovely and we got to experience a range of Kathmandu valley dishes with local vendors, some that have been there for 180years, over 3 generations! Savoury, sweet, and very filling! So don’t eat before you go!
