Welcoming guests to Kauai since 2007, Luau Kalamaku is Hawaii's only luau show performed “in-the-round,” offering optimal views of the stage. Witness the unearthing of the pig from the traditional imu (underground oven) and enjoy a hula lesson. A craft fair featuring unique items by local artisans awaits on the sprawling lawn. Feast on a delicious buffet of local and familiar favorites and enjoy a Mai Tai from the open bar. The main show tells the amazing story of the ancient Hawaiian legend of Kalamaku “child of the new land." Through laughter, fear, seduction and fire, a new legacy is created, born from the cherished seeds of their ancestors. The theatrical luau show culminates with a fantastic fire dream featuring fire poi balls and traditional fire knife dancing.

3.00The experience is indoors, which was fortunate because it rained. The food was just okay and the drinks were not good. The first half of the show was forgettable but the second half was great and memorable.

5.00It is not exactly what you may think a traditional luau is, it’s more of a dinner show. But it was a great experience and the cast was fantastic. If raining it may be cold under the pavilion so bring a jacket.

2.00The arena was *huge*. We paid extra for close seats but still could barely see the stage. The food was, to put it charitably, mediocre. 2 stars for the location, but the rest was barely ok.

3.00The show was good, but our tables were at the back. Made our reservation together for 4 people and they seated three at one table and one at another. Took persuasion and refusal to sit apart before the seating got settled. What was advertised as a sumptuous buffet was not. The pork was smoky and salted but good. Fish was overcooked and under seasoned and 3rd meat was teriyaki chicken thighs. I won’t eat dark meat. Salads on buffet were disappointing.Salad served at the table was good; actually that was best part of meal with rolls. Macaroni potato salad was awful. I would give the banquet a 2 rating. I would not recommend attending this luau. Overall disappointing for the cost . I attended another luau in Waikiki on my first trip and the luau including the meal was much better.
