  We were so glad we booked this kayak. It’s a very gentle peaceful paddle up the flat section of the iron bow. The field drive up deeply on either side with lush green vegetation. Our guide Jun was very knowledgeable and friendly, and we enjoyed the company very much.

  Great experience with an experienced and friendly guide who speaks very good English. He made beautiful pictures and a movie too. What beautiful memories for us! He gave us cakes made by his wife and a nice dinner in nature. We went kayaking in the morning and trekking in the afternoon. • The Highlight of Our Yakushima Trip!

  My husband and I had the best time with Junichi from Yakushima Geographic Tours! We joined him for two tours over two days, and every moment was wonderful. On the first day, we enjoyed a peaceful kayaking trip down the Anbo River, where Junichi shared fascinating insights about the local wildlife and nature. We stopped along the riverside for a beautiful outdoor lunch, and even had the chance to cool off with a refreshing swim. The next day, we hiked the Shiratani trail and explored the magical forest. Junichi’s knowledge of the area is incredible, he told us so many stories and answered all our questions with such passion. He even brought cookware so we could enjoy a hot, freshly prepared lunch in the middle of the forest, which made the experience extra special. Another highlight was that Junichi took photos and even a video of our experiences, which he shared with us afterward, such a thoughtful way to help us remember the trip. And to top it all off, he surprised me with ice cream at the end of the tour to celebrate my birthday! It was an unforgettable experience, and we can’t recommend his tours highly enough!   Our tour guide/instructor Jun was absolutely amazing. Jun took us to great and beautiful areas in Anbo River. I totally fallen in love with the beauty of Anbo River. Jun is also so knowledgeable about Anbo River.

  Fantastic experience, highly recommend! Jun was our guide x 2 days and he is just great — highlight of the trip! In addition to kayaking, we did 2 short hikes and a half day touring the island. Jun was happy to modify our plans on the fly when we decided we didn’t want to do a full day hike anymore, and filled the day with touring of the island which was our favorite!

  This tour was one of the highlights of our visit to Yakushima. The guide and company owner Juinishi took care of every detail ( no need to lcarry kayaks as we have done on other kayak trips) The trip is not too strenuous but the scenery is amazing. Jun is fun to be with and shared lots of local stories - water baseball and more. I highly recommend this trip

  Jun the guide was an incredible guide. Thoughtful experienced and very aware of his clients needs and abilities. We hired him the first day for kayaking and then hired him for hiking and we were so glad we did. He thought of everything!

• Discovering the beauty of Yakushima via kayak!

  We were so fortunate to do a kayak expedition with Jun this week. We had initially signed up for kayaking on the Anbo river, but Jun suggested Kurio river instead, due to weather and tide patterns. Kurio river water is clear as glass, and our paddling led us to a wide variety of landscapes, from a wide open river, to narrower passages next to heavily forested river banks, to the last native mangrove preserve in Yakushima, and finally a pretty waterfall for a perfectly timed coffee/tea break. The pace was perfect, Jun clearly adapted to our needs. I cannot think of a better guided adventure, due to Jun’s kindness, and focus on making this the best personalized experience. Thank you Junichi for such a special morning!

  We did both the kayaking and trek through the forest over two days. Jun was the most patient lovely guide. We are not the fittest people, and so we had to make quite a few stops as we climbed the steep path up the mountain. Jun waited patiently as we caught our breath. He gave us lots of information about the forest, and his love of nature is evident. The following day, we enjoyed a gentle kayak down the river and a really enjoyable splash about in the river - my son particularly enjoyed sliding off the rocks and floating with the current! Would highly recommend both trips.

  We had *such* a good time with Junichi. The morning started with some light kayaking on the beautiful Anbo River with a stop for some tea before hiking in the cedar forests. Junichi speaks perfect English and is an excellent tour guide who taught us about the local plants and animals in Yakushima. Highly, highly recommend this, it was one of our favorite parts of our entire trip to Japan.
