Starting at Saguaro Lake Guest Ranch, you and your group will kayak down a scenic five mile stretch of river as it moves it's way through the Tonto National Forest. Participants often witness wild horses, birds and other wildlife that cool off in the river during the summer months.

We have the special privilege of being the only kayak rental company located right on the Salt River, so our trips launch directly from our site. Each reservation includes a kayak (or with advance request a paddleboard), paddle, PFD/personal flotation device and return shuttle to starting site.

This is an UNGUIDED kayaking experience. While this is primarily a scenic float there are sections of swift water and kayakers often tip out – so be prepared to get wet.

Travelers should have at least a moderate level of physical fitness

Minimum age is 12 years & 4'6" tall

Maximum weight is kayak/275 lbs & paddleboard/260 lbs.

NO double kayaks/only singles

Not recommended for participants who do not know how to swim.

Participant must be comfortable with an UNGUIDED river excursion. While this is primarily a scenic float, there are sections of swift water and kayakers often tip out - so be prepared to get wet.

Must sign a waiver prior to arrival. Waiver link email will be sent to you after booking, please call if you do not receive the email.

Dress to be in the heat and to get wet!

Service animals or pets are not allowed on kayaks for the safety of the animal

The company is well organized. The scenery is beautiful and lots of wildlife, too... otters, wild horses, and many birds.

AMAZING! my family was visiting so we went kayaking. This booking had great staff when we arrived on site with helpful instructions and big smiles. You are able to buy soft drinks there and places to fill your water bottles before getting on the river. I suggest eating before hand or bring some snacks. All you need is a waterproof case for your phone and wallet/keys, you will be taking lots of pictures of the gorgeous mountains right next to you. The kayaks were clean and comfortable, easy to get in and out of with the help of staff as well. Such a relaxing trip, I will definitely be back!!

This was a wonderful experience. Everything was perfect from the ease of reservation, customer service as we adjusted our launch timing the night before, the time at The Ranch, the amazing views on the river (we got to see the wild horses) to the professional team who helped get us out of the river and back to the Ranch. It was a wonderful time and I highly recommend it.

We very much enjoyed this 2 hour trip. Was pleasantly surprised to see no less than 10 wild horses. The guy that sent us off was very funny and informative however, we had both been kayaking before There are small parts of the rapids where it would be very easy for a first time kayaker or a very experienced kayak to tip over. Would not necessarily recommend it to someone who had never been in a kayak before unless they have a good sense of humor. Although we did not go for a swim, we were very happy that all of our belongings were in dry bags and I have a dry case for my phone to take pictures.
