This tour was the single worst tour experience we've had as tourists on vacation. That's saying a lot considering how welcoming and kind everybody we met in Georgia was outside of this tour. It really is disappointing how this single tour ruined Kazbegi for us. Rather than pay 160 dollars for the tour, we would have been far better off just driving ourselves or getting a car with GoTrip. To make a long story short, the guide was exceptionally rude, rushed us through the tour as fast as possible and tried skipping parts of the tour (then yelled at us when we brought it up and said he was doing us a favor), knew almost nothing about Kazbegi or it's history, drove dangerously and became irate when we asked if we could stop for 2 extra minutes to fill up our water bottles on the side of the road. The time listed for the tour on the TripAdvisor page is 8-11 hours. He told us that the entire tour, including driving, should only take a maximum of 8 hours. Considering that the driving alone was 6.5 hours, having only 1.5 hours is ridiculous for the number of stops offered. Because he rushed us so much, our tour ended up being a total of 9 hours and 10 minutes, something that clearly displeased him. When he realized the tour was going to go over 8 hours, he did the following: Constantly lectured us about the length of the tour Began driving through the mountains at a high speed while texting on his phone Would start explaining the site before our group had even caught up to him His explanations were incredibly short. For example, all he said about a monastery we stopped at was that "It's new" Would return to the car early Tried skipping parts of stops and told us he did us a favor for stopping at places on the itinerary Claimed the wine tour/tasting at the monastery was not part of the tour. When we showed him it was, he demanded we pay for it. Thankfully, one of the kind monks offered us a free tasting, but we still never received a tour. Halfway through the tasting, only after our first glass, the tour guide told us "Let's go guys" When we asked him to make one extra stop just to fill up our water bottles, he refused. Only after pushing him did he stop. Rather than turn into the parking lot off the side of the road to let us fill up our water, he parked on the shoulder of opposite side of the highway and we had to cross the highway ourselves When we pointed all this out to the tour operator, the only thing he offered us was a bottle of wine, which we could not take with us on our flight, or transport to the airport which we told him we had already booked with somebody else.

We had an absolutely amazing tour to Kazbegi with Shavi Tetri! They were responsive, knowledgeable, flexible, and incredibly helpful from the start. They went above and beyond to accommodate our special itinerary requests, and it truly felt like they cared about giving us the best possible experience rather than just a standard, cookie-cutter tour. Our guide and driver was wonderful: kind, safe, and full of fascinating info about everything we saw. He spoke great English, was fun and easy to be around, and overall made the whole day even more enjoyable. The car was spacious and comfortable, and he even had water ready for us. I can’t recommend Shavi Tetri highly enough, they made our trip unforgettable and it was the best experience of our week in Georgia!

Our guide was great! He picked us up in Tbilisi, took us to all the sights and gave information on all of them, and then drove us back. We even got to customize the trip by adding a short hike. Our guide took pictures of us and offered very clear explanations.

We did a full-day tour to Kazbegi with Shavi & Tetri, and it exceeded expectations. Here’s why: – Guide: super friendly, flexible, and knew a lot about the area. – Timing: well-planned, no rush, enough time at each stop. – Route: Gergeti Trinity Church, Ananuri Fortress, Jvari Pass – all beautiful. – Bonus: we stopped at a hidden waterfall not even on the map! Totally recommend this tour if you want nature, history, and a peaceful experience in the Caucasus.

Kazbegi was not just a place — it was a feeling. From the moment we saw the mountains breaking through the clouds, we knew this day would stay with us forever. Thanks to Shavi & Tetri, everything felt effortless and personal. Our guide didn’t just show us places — he told us stories, shared local secrets, and let us feel the soul of Georgia. The silence around Gergeti church, the freshness of the air, the powerful energy of the landscape... it was overwhelming in the best way. We came back with more than just photos. We came back inspired. Thank you for this gift.
