We start the day learning everything we need to know about olive oil. Most of the island of Kefalonia is covered with olive trees. It is the most important product here both for our economy and our cuisine. At Marina s Oil Mill, we will learn how olive oil is made in the modern method. We will also learn the varying methods of production and quality levels. Have you ever wondered what Extra Virgin Olive Oil means? You’ll find out! In their tasting area, we’ll get a chance to sample different oils and other Kefalonian products.

5.00We were expecting a good day. But the day fully exceeded our expectations. Each part of it brought us new knowledge of the products as well as of the island. Dimitris was a kind and knowledgeable guide who made us feel relaxed from the very start. We will continue to patronise all of the businesses we visited and look forward to learning more about them.

5.00Perfect for cruisers as Dimitris met us at the dock in his minivan. He personalized all for us and showed us the wharf area, explained history as we left the crowds behind visiting small and excellent family businesses located up a mountain (organic husband and wife bee farm) with honey tasting, honey and bee production, shared their garden and goats! Next we drove through charming small towns to an olive oil company with a tasting room. The owner gave us a tour, let us taste many award winning olive oils while we ate delicious feta cheese, bread and fresh tomatoes. Again, just the two of visiting with the owner and a farmer who was checking on his olive delivery! Last we continued short scenic drive to a terrific small winery with wine tasting at small tables in the vineyard area, again with fresh bread, cheese and olive oil. Dimitris knew everyone and always asked about our wants as well as being a delightful and informative. Would love to go back and highly recommend!

5.00Perfect for cruisers as Dimitris was waiting at dock to pick us up. We left the crowds and first walked about the coast seeing fishing boats and learning about loggerhead turtles we saw there. He always gave us choices, explained life on island and scenic routes through little villages and towns and up mountain to small couple run bee farm who met us, shared beautiful gardens and learned all about honey harvesting and honey tasting from organic honey next to a mountain forest. Next to a small family owned award winning olive oil company. Owner showed us process and we tasted many delicious olive oils with fresh feta, tomatoes and crusty bread - yum! Learned so much. Again, just the two of us talking with the owner and Dimitris. Last was to a small family owned winery with small shaded tables in the vineyards for a wine tasting with fresh bread, olives, cheese and bread. Each of these were off the beaten path for tourists and we were able to truly experience life here. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Dimitris kept in touch with us before trip so never a concern. No crowds, welcoming atmosphere and good conversations!

5.00We really wish we could’ve gone on this tour. We were excited for it. However due to weather our cruise ship couldn’t dock in Kefalonia. I reached out and they immediately offered a full refund!

5.00Dimitris was knowledgeable, friendly, professional, and prompt. Learning about true hard work that goes into the delicious honey, olive oil, and wine produced on Kefalonia made tasting them even more wonderful. Experiencing the magic of the island from a local’s perspective was exactly what we wanted. All of the people we met were fantastic, and Dimitris was even our personal paparazzi for the day so we could enjoy the moment and not worry about getting photos of the memories. 5.00Booked this tour for four on a cruise stop. Dimitrous picked us up on time and took us to an incredible olive oil producer where we learned about olive oil and tasted a few different kinds. Next, we went to a local bee farmer and saw the honey process, as well as tasted the honey. The property itself is beautiful. Next we went to a local winery and sample three wines in a very beautiful setting. This was a great tour and our guide was very knowledgeable, thoughtful, and accommodating

5.00We did the Royal Caribbean cruise on the Explorer of the Seas in July 2025. We started in Ravenna, Italy port and had stops in Montenegro, Athens, Santorini, and Kefalonia. Our tour on Kefalonia with Dimitris was by far our favorite cruise stop! We stopped at a local family ran farm that walked us through the honey making process as they have bees and hives. We got to taste different types of honey and they make much more onsite using wax for lip balms as well as flavored honeys. Our next stop was at a place where they work with olive oil and we were walked through the processes of olive oil harvesting, pressing, etc. In addition to that, we had local, fresh olive oil dishes with tomatoes, cucumbers, cheeses, spices, and breads. Finally, we stopped at a local winery where we sampled many different wines and olives. The view was the most amazing view of the Aegean Sea while we sat and relaxed. Our whole family had a great time and it was without question thanks to Dimitris and Kefalonia Tours! Dimitris took many amazing pictures of our experiences for us while we enjoyed each stop on the tour. We would all give more than 5 stars for this tour if we could! Definitely a must and we would do it again!

5.00This type of tour is what makes traveling great. Meeting the real people behind the delicious Kefalonian products. In addition you get to learn about the Greek history (ancient and recent) all you have to do is ask Demetris. If you go to Kefalonia take the time to take this tour. You will not be disappointed and you will have a deeper appreciation and understanding of the island and its people.
