Our Kids lesson are designed for 100% safety and fun, conducted in safe shallow water with a max 4 kids per instructor. Enjoy learning to surf at a beautiful, undeveloped local beach called The Spit, offering stunning views of the Surfers Paradise skyline in the backdrop. Your highly-qualified and experienced surf coach will provide you plenty of personal attention and laughs along the way. Have a look and laugh at the photos of you riding waves, or falling with style, after your fun-filled lesson.

Infants and small children can ride in a pram or stroller

Service animals allowed

Infants are required to sit on an adult’s lap

Not recommended for travelers with spinal injuries

Not recommended for pregnant travelers

Not recommended for travelers with poor cardiovascular health

Travelers should have at least a moderate level of physical fitness

For children 6 to 12 years old

Please provide your own swimwear

Please refrain from bringing any valuables to the beach

Parental assistance in the water may be required if your child is not a strong swimmer

Please ensure that the phone number you provide us with is the one that we can contact you on, on the day of the surf lesson

When you arrive at the The Spit, you will find us in The Surf Shack, located behind the Seaway Cafe. Just walk down between the cafe and the amenities block and come in the back gate. when you arrive we will have a few minutes to check in and receive your equipment before we go as a group down to the beach to start the lesson. If you arrive more than 10 min past the meeting time the class may have proceeded without you and it will be to late to join in as you will not have your equipment. Then we head down on the beach the instructors will run through some important safety procedures and surf techniques before you hit the waves for some real thrills and spills. Our Kids classes are designed for 100% safety and fun conducted in shallow safe water with a max 4 kids per instructor. This class is for 6-12 years old only. Adults only accompany their children.

Tom our instructor was absolutely fabulous. The tour is guided well and allows you to do a lot of practice. The instructor is quite patient as well.

perfect conditions, our surf instructor Killarney was awesome. Everyone in the group was standing up on most waves, not just one! Better than all the theme park rides on the gold coast!

My kids (6 and 8 years old ) had so much fun on that day! Thank you Jason for making surfing sessions so much fun and engaging. They learned how to get use to the wave and trying to crouch to get the feeling of what it feels like when you stand on the surfboard in the waves. It’s easy for the kid to understand the basic. Kids was so happy and excited just after first lesson. Who would have thoughts kids could fall in love in suring even in windy winter seasons. Thank you once again! You’re the best Jason!

We did a private lesson for 4 kids aged 5-12 with 2 instructors. The cost was $440 plus an additional $80 for a second instructor, which was well worth the cost. The second instructor mostly chased after the littlest one to free up time for the three bigger kids to learn to surf. They all had a lot of fun, and we parents felt pretty comfortable that everyone was safe and well-supervised. Would recommend it!

My 7 year old son first time surfing Seeing him getting up on the board & surfing a wave with the biggest smile on his face was definitely the highlight of the morning Beau & Billy were fantastic i would definitely recommend this experience.

Booked a surf lesson for my three kids (aged 6, 8 an 13). They had a great time learning the basics and then catching some waves, standing up and riding some waves all the way in. Would definitely recommend Get Wet Surf School!
