Along the way, you’ll get a feel for Kigali’s clean, well-planned streets and modern architecture. We’ll pass by lively commercial areas, small local shops, and everyday city life unfolding around us.
Belgian Peacekeepers Memorial
At the Belgian Peacekeepers Memorial, we’ll pause to reflect on the history of the 10 Belgian soldiers who were killed at the start of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. The site features a small museum and the preserved bullet-marked building where they made their last stand, offering a powerful glimpse into Rwanda’s past and its journey toward peace.

5.00What was written as a three hour tour was worth 10 in knowledge and education. Walking around Kigali among the locals, learning local customs and history was very rewarding. My tour guide Jerry was excellent and explained everything in great detail. I would recommend this tour. At first I was hesitant to go but it turned out to be one of my favorite tours while in Rwanda.

5.00We recently joined the city walking tour. We started at 09.30 and our guide Jerry was there waiting for us at the arranged spot. We set off on a 3 hour exploration that covered the Camp Kigali Belgian Memorial, a women's co-operative, an interesting neighbourhood where a lot of Muslims live, some street art and a spot with a lot of restaurants for lunch at the end. Jerry was an informative and engaging guide. I liked the tour.

5.00This city tour was fantastic! Jerry was extremely knowledgeable and a pleasure to chat with. If you’re interested in a more comprehensive experience, including the genocide museum, I’d suggest their driving tour. There’s so much to see, but you can only explore so much on foot in a few hours! It’s definitely worth it if you’re short on time and want a quick overview of Kigali.

5.00Kigali is remarkably clean, and experiencing the city on foot truly brings that quality to life. Walking through its streets with a knowledgeable guide turned out to be the highlight of the visit and was absolutely worth the price. The guide’s deep understanding of Kigali’s history, culture, and daily life added meaning to every street and neighborhood we explored, transforming a simple walk into a rich and engaging experience. One of the most memorable moments was visiting the old neighborhood of Kigali, where the streets are car-free and full of local character. There, we had the chance to try local food, immersing ourselves in the authentic flavors of the city. Sampling these dishes in such a lively, pedestrian-friendly area made the experience feel genuine and connected to the community. Overall, the combination of Kigali’s cleanliness, the insight provided by a skilled guide, and the opportunity to enjoy local cuisine in a historic, car-free area made the walk unforgettable and deeply rewarding.

5.00We were lucky to find Jerry available for this tour when we visited Kigali recently. We wanted to understand Kigali and Rwanda more and Jerry was very helpful in this regard. The walking tour is informative and makes exploring the city much more enjoyable than doing this alone. Jerry has a good understanding of his community and shared it with enthusiasm. I would have no hesitation recommending this tour and Jerry.
