Start the climb at Marangu Gate with registration and briefing. Trek through thick rainforest filled with birds and colobus monkeys. The trail is gentle and humid as you ascend to Mandara Hut. Optional short walk to Maundi Crater for views toward Kenya.

Leave the forest and enter the heather and moorland zone. The views open wide with clear sights of Mawenzi and Kibo peaks. Lunch is served along the way before reaching Horombo Hut for dinner and overnight.

Take a short acclimatization hike toward Mawenzi Ridge. This helps the body adjust to high altitude and offers great views of the saddle between the two peaks. Return to Horombo for lunch, relaxation, and overnight.

Continue trekking through the alpine desert, a dry and rocky landscape with dramatic scenery. Arrive at Kibo Hut in the afternoon to rest and prepare for the summit attempt.

Summit day begins around midnight. You ascend steeply to Gillman’s Point, then continue to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. After photos and celebration, descend back to Kibo Hut for a short rest, then continue to Horombo Hut.

Kilimanjaro National Park
Descend through rainforest to Marangu Gate, sign out, and receive your certificate. Transfer back to Moshi or onward destination.

5.00traveled to Marangu for 5 days with Kilita Tours & Safaris, and it was an amazing experience. Their service was friendly and highly professional from transportation and accommodation to guided tours. We visited beautiful waterfalls, enjoyed stunning views of Mount Kilimanjaro, and learned about the Chagga culture. The itinerary was well organized, and the meals were delicious throughout the trip. Overall, it was a truly memorable and enjoyable adventure.

5.00We had an amazing experience climbing with my friend Mount Kilimanjaro with Kilita Tours &Safari via the Marangu Route for six days From start to finish, everything was well organized and safe. Our guides Emmanuel and Raphael were exceptionalvery supportive and motivating throughout the entire journey. They carefully monitored our health and encouraged us every step of the climb. The food prepared by Chef James was delicious, fresh, and energizing, even at high altitude. The five porters worked extremely hard, always smiling and taking great care of our equipment.
